Taehyung lay unconscious on the cold floor, his frail body barely showing signs of life. Jungkook’s men, following their boss’s orders, carefully lifted him and brought him to Jungkook's mansion. They laid him on a large, luxurious bed, a stark contrast to the harshness of the basement.
As Jungkook entered the room, his eyes narrowed at the sight of the boy who, even in sleep, seemed so vulnerable.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel a flicker of something unfamiliar as he watched the innocent figure before him. But he quickly pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand.
He picked up his phone and called the family doctor, instructing him to come immediately. An hour later, the doctor arrived, his face calm and professional as he examined Taehyung.
After a thorough check-up, he turned to Jungkook, his tone serious. “He’s extremely weak, Jungkook. It seems he hasn’t eaten or drunk anything for days.
He needs rest and proper care.”Jungkook’s expression hardened. “Is he going to be fine?”“With time and care, yes. But he’s in a fragile state right now.
You need to make sure he eats and hydrates.”Jungkook nodded curtly as the doctor left. He stood by the bed for a moment, staring at Taehyung, who looked so small and defenseless amidst the plush blankets.
With a deep breath, he stepped out of the room, barking orders to his men. “Give him some food and water. Make sure he eats.”When Taehyung slowly awoke, he found himself in an unfamiliar room.
The bed was soft, and the room was grand, but none of it felt comforting. His body ached with weakness, and his stomach growled in protest of its prolonged emptiness. A tray of food sat on the bedside table, and one of Jungkook’s men entered the room, eyeing Taehyung with a stern look.“Eat,” the man commanded, his voice gruff.Taehyung blinked up at him, disoriented.
His hands trembled as he reached out toward the food, but he stopped midway, uncertainty clouding his eyes. He looked down, feeling small and scared. “I… I don’t know how to eat,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. The man frowned, confused. “What do you mean you don’t know how to eat?”Tears welled up in Taehyung’s eyes as he explained, “Appa and Hyung always feed me… I’ve never… I don’t know how…”The man stared at him, stunned by the boy’s confession.
He had never encountered someone so sheltered, so utterly dependent.
Not knowing what to do, he quickly left the room and called Jungkook, relaying what Taehyung had just said. Jungkook, who had been sitting in his office, was taken aback by the news.
He had expected defiance, fear, even anger—but not this. Not this level of innocence. “Leave him,” Jungkook ordered, trying to maintain his cold demeanor. “Let him figure it out on his own.”The man returned to the room, giving Taehyung one last glance before leaving him alone.
Taehyung remained on the bed, staring at the untouched food. His stomach growled again, but he didn’t move. Instead, he curled up on the bed, hugging his knees to his chest, feeling more alone than ever.
Time passed, and Taehyung’s exhaustion finally overcame him. He drifted off to sleep, tears still clinging to his lashes. In his office, Jungkook watched the live feed from the room, his eyes fixed on the small figure lying motionless on the bed. His heart twisted with a mix of emotions he didn’t want to acknowledge.
As the night deepened, Jungkook tried to focus on his work, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Taehyung.
He couldn’t shake the image of the boy’s frightened, tear-streaked face. Frustrated, he finally shut off the feed, but the unease remained.
Meanwhile, back at the Kim mansion, Mr. Kim was at his wit’s end. He had been pacing his office for hours, barking orders at the police over the phone. “Where is my son?” he shouted, his voice hoarse with desperation. “How can you not find him? He’s just a boy!”The police tried to reassure him, but their words fell on deaf ears.
Mr. Kim slammed the phone down, his hands trembling with fear and guilt. He had failed to protect his precious Taehyung, and now the boy was missing, vulnerable, and alone. The thought of what might be happening to him was unbearable.
