Need a Book

Chapter 11

     We finally finished cleaning up this place. It hasn't been used in a long time, so it's finally clean. I'm making lunch right now so we can eat, and then Leo will probably disappear into the library while I give Pete and Ace some history lessons so we can be on the same page about what happened in history.

     I'm starting at the beginning of time, like when we first started seeing humans for and achieving things like cave paintings and creating fire, then slowly heading through time till we get to the present. I know this is going to take a while, but it's not like they need to memorize this stuff, just have to have a basic understanding.

August 19, 3061, 13:24:48

     I was showing Pete and Ace different cave paintings throughout the era when Leo walks into the room and slams four books onto the table. Ace and Pete jumped while I calmly looked up at him.

     "How can I help you?"

     "I want to do what you did," Lao said without missing a beat. 

     I pause before saying, "Pardon?"

     "I want to repeat the process of what you did. Like how you got Nyx's powers."

     "I want to do that too!"

     "Me too." Ace and Pete sounded off.

     Sighing, I ask, "Did you read the consequences of the spell and potion needed?"

     "Yes."

     "You also know what could happen if the god you chose refuses?"

     "Yes."

     "Alright, I suppose you can start looking for an entity, just know I can't help you, only explain stuff to you."

     He nods back before walking away. I turn back towards the table and saw the other two looking at me. We stared at each other for a moment before I pass the books over to them and told them to start reading. They each grab two and left, leaving me to clean up and plan our next course of action.

     I want to do Lucifer," Leo said.

     "Do you remember the story of Lucifer?"

     "Yes, he's a fallen angel as he strand from god's virtues, and now he's the ruler of hell."

     "Really, I thought Jesus was some sort of evil person who we have to eat his body and drink his blood to worship him."

     Leo and I look over at Pete for a few seconds before we started laughing. "I can understand how you got there, but my got you sound like how native mythology was interpreted," I say, still struggling to stop laughing. 

     Once we could collect ourselves, I turn to the other two and gave them the same questions as Leo, going a little more in-depth to make sure they knew what they were getting into.

     "Alright, you can start lo-"

     "We already chose them," Ace cut me off.

     "Cool, who did you choose?"

     "I'm doing Posiden," Pete said.

     "And I'm going Ares."

     "And what are their stories?"

     "Posiden is the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. He was eaten by his father, and is the brother of Zeus. He also got a seat on Mount Olympus."
