Old days

Remember the days where we would smile and laugh
Make jokes and tease
Have fun together
Be friends
No drama
No worries?

The days where we could talk and share
Cuddle and spend time together
Hold hands
Nuzzles and snuggles
Kisses
I love yous
Lean on one another

Our friends have lessened some
We've been betrayed
Backstabbed
Those who we trusted blindly turned against us
We lost everything

Wandering,lost and hurt
Angry and struggling to find a foothold
Only having one another
But not a place to call home anymore
We were exiled
Forced to leave without a choice
Kicked out

It hurts
Streams of salty tears run
The beating muscle,once strong
Now shattered into a million pieces
Barely holding all the pieces together
With strips of tape and the good memories
However they sometimes don't stick
The good memories have the bad stained
Around the edges

It'll be okay soon
Old memories fade with time
More good memories can be made
The old ones will have to be locked away
In a vault
Marked with "Do not revisit".

More good memories can be made
Let go of the pain
For those that stayed
They're truly the ones to trust
For those that left
Never come back
That window was locked off long ago
Along with the door.
