Lucy Olsen. Where do I begin? We've been best friends since the 5th grade, and we both went to Villanova to play basketball. The day she told me she was transferring I was shocked. Now don't get me wrong I love my teammates at Nova but Lucy was the reason I stayed. So once she said she was leaving, I decided I was too.I don't like to brag but I will, I'm a great shooter. I'd be lying if I said schools didn't want me. The LSU team last year was unstoppable but Coach Mulkey didn't seem to be interested in my skills so that's off the table.
Lucy had told me she was committing to Iowa so the likely hood of them taking two transfers from the same school was lower than the titanic. My younger brother, Mikey, insisted I got to USC. He heard they were getting a new freshman name JuJu Watkins, he mentioned we had similar playing styles and that we'd grow close.
I've lived in Pennsylvania all my life, I loved living close to my family when I was at Villanova so moving across the country wasn't my first idea. I loved the idea of having an hour drive at most to see my brother and sister. With that in mind my mom suggested Penn State. Now be honest, when you think of women's basketball does Penn State come to mind? No.
Lucy was talking about some schools she'd talked to but didn't see yourself right at. She mentioned UConn. UConn as in coached my Geno Auriemma. Now that is a basketball school, everyone knows UConn. So many great players came from UConn: Sue Bird, Stewie, DT, the list goes on.
I looked at the drive from Storrs so my parents, only 4 hours. I decided to contact Coach Auriemma and hopefully, on some miracle, he'd take me. I contacted some other schools and some schools reached out to me, but I was so set on UConn so those schools were mainly fallbacks.
On a random Sunday when I was helping Lucy pack up her dorm with her mom I got an email. I opened it seeing it was from Coach Auriemma, when I opened it he said he'd take me. To say I was excited would be an understatement. I jumped up and down squealing, something a rarely do. Packing took a pause as I called my mom and dad who were both happy for me. Then I called my sister, Sammy, who's congratulated me and told me that UConn had hot players...she wasn't wrong. I then texted Mikey, now you may be asking why I didn't call him too. Well Mikey is mute, he has neurological damage meaning when he was born he had a stroke, which really messed with the part of the brain that forms speech.

The next week my dad helped me get everything out of my dorm. Once he had everything out we put it all in my parents garage before we drove to Connecticut. I enjoyed my last couple days with my family before heading to Connecticut to get moved in and soon start summer workouts.
After three days of spending time with my family my parents and I headed off to Connecticut to get everything situated. When I got to campus it was empty, no shit it's the beginning of summer. Anyways, I got to my dorm, did not know my roommates yet but I did know they had been in the team for over two years. Got all my stuff moved in and said goodbye to my parents. (all though I'll see them after summer workouts)
Welp looks like it'll be me and my thoughts before the rest of the team comes back to start workouts.

VERY short chapter just trying to place the building blocks for this book.
I have a rough outline of what I want for the next chapter so hopefully that comes out in less than four days.
Please do not be a silent reader and constructive criticism is very much loved and wanted.
Also this was not reread so there might be a few mistakes.
Thank you!
