Clara pov

I put the final touches on my room while decorating. I put the last of the Polaroids of me and Lucy up on my wall and put a picture on me, my brother, and sister on my bed side table.

I hear the dorm door open, my roommates must've come back to campus. I take a deep breath. I'm trying to put myself out there now that I'm at UConn. Just be Clara, that's all you need to be.

I walk you my room and see Azzi Fudd and Aubrey Griffin, my roommates. I smile and wave.

"Hi I'm Clara, I transferred from Villanova." I said, hoping they respond.

"Oh you're the transfer. Well I'm Aubrey and this is Azzi." She says with a welcoming smile.

"Have you met any of the rest of the girls yet?" Azzi asks me.

"No, I didn't know you guys were here yet." I say with a chuckle.

Aubrey and Azzi both have such welcoming smiles, I just can't explain it.

"Well I'm pretty sure the girls said they wanted to get dinner later. You wanna come with?" Aubrey asks.

I nod, trying not to look too excited.

I walk into the restaurant behind Azzi and Aubrey. "Clara get up here!" Aubrey says as she pulls be next to her and wraps her arm around my shoulders, she adds me into the conversation she was having with Azzi. Oh and whatever that girl said about not using deodorant is a lie. She smells like heaven.

We walk up to a very loud table, one girl sticking out, KK Arnold. Once I knew Geno picked me up from the portal I decided to follow my new teammates on TikTok and insta. Safe to save KK seems like she'll be a good friend.

One more girl starts to stick out, I believe her name is Nika Mühl. Before we even got to the table she was already looking at us, looking at me.

The three of us sit down, Aubrey starts introducing me, "This is Claire guys, she's the transfer Coach was talking about. Nova right?"

"Yeah." I say quietly, I know all the girls are nice but I still haven't talked to them at all yet. I do know people don't like one girl on the team, Q I think.

"That cool, yeah I think I remember playing you. What year are you?" Paige asks.

"Oh I'm a junior," I told her.

After that they all go back to their conversation, again I don't really know these players so I decide to just text Lucy. It's been two days since I've talked to her.

the girls are nice, Aubrey and azzi I've kinda talk to but we're getting food with the whole team rn so I kinda talked to them
also there is one girl that's kinda cute.

I get interrupted by someone asking me a question. "What else do you do other that ball?" Ice asks.

"Oh well I uh play piano and guitar a bit." I told her once I looked up from my phone.

"Oh shit that's awesome, how long have you been playing?" Ines asked, sounding very interested.

"Guitar about 10 years and piano like 7."

"You gotta play for us one time girly!" Kk says super excited.

I chuckle, "yeah for sure."

I look back down at my phone as I hear, "you have gorgeous eyes," someone says.

"Pardon?" I respond looking up, scanning the table.

"Oh uh I just said you have gorgeous eyes." Nika repeats. Man does she was a beautiful voice.

"Oh thanks." I can feel myself getting red.

"You have pretty hair!" Kk says quickly.

"Thanks kk," I say in a laugh.

The rest of the dinner goes on normally, I occasionally add a comment here and there. We get our food and damn it was amazing.
The times I look up from my food I see Nika looking at me then quickly looking away. I shake it off thinking it's just her trying to scope out to new teammate or something. After dinner we all go back to our dorms and I just go to sleep.

Sorry another short chapter and sorry it's been like a week.

I've had some personal stuff happen like breaking my wrist.

Hopefully I can actually get the next chapter out sooner than I got this one out.
