➤ Rosé's POV.
The second last day of nationals is done, and we are one step closer to taking that trophy home. God, rather than feeling accomplished, it was just tiring. In the end, I really shouldn't say that and do my best. Volleyball is what I love, what I did everything for.
My thoughts are just as fucked up as the rest of my body. There were the incompetent teammates, to the demanding egoistic asshole that seemed to enjoy mopping me around. To be honest, I should give him some credit. Not only was he an awfully good striker, but the way he bossed me around made me focus on anything other than my bothersome mind.
"Get Ness."
There he goes again, just after I returned to the Blue Lock facility. I plugged in my translator device before doing what he asked without even glancing at him. Surprisingly, I don't think he knows my name yet. It seemed like Isagi and the others were determined not to slip up.
The less information he had on me, the better.
"Rosé."
I heard my name getting called out quietly, the voice giving me a sense of relief. I turned around before noticing Ness walking past me.
"Ah, Ness. Kaiser is looking for you in the locker room." I called out, ignoring the other boy for a moment. It was a given that I put their needs and wants first before the conversations and whatnot.
Ness gave me a surprised look before smiling faintly, nodding in understanding before walking over to the locker room. I blinked, wondering how someone as polite as him could be friends with a self-centered jerk. Shaking my head, I paid attention to the boy who had called me before. I see him glance around as if surveying the surroundings before speaking up.
"Is Kaiser being a pain?" He asked concernly and I immediately let out a small sound of disagreement. Of course, I was definitely bothered by Kaiser's constant petty requests, but I didn't want to burden him. He didn't need the extra weight.
"He's alright, Isagi," I reassured him in a calm tone. He looked at me with an uncertain expression before smiling softly.
"Even if you're as egoistic, you're always reassuring us even if it seems that you're unsure about it." He spoke in a relaxed tone. My eyes widened slightly, observing his face. His grin, his soft laugh, and his mannerisms. It was...so caring. Unlike when he was on the field, he was a gentle person who cared about others.
I cleared my throat, covering my lips with the back of my hand in an attempt to regain my composure. I glanced away before taking a peek at him again. What was I doing, really? Why was this thing..this need to return the kindness bubbling up again? I kept it in so well...
"Are you sick? Your ears are red."
"I'm fine..."
"But-"
"I'm fine."
It's just Isagi. Nothing special.

➤ Third Person POV.
It was the first match-up for the Neo-Egoist League.
Bastard Müchen VS Barcha.
Rosé didn't actually have to be there but Ego insisted that the 'assisters' should be by the field if anything happens. She wasn't fond with the change but she didn't really have a say. Damn you, freak.
Seeing Isagi in the line of players, she blinked slowly. They were waiting for the door to open so they could proceed. With much hesitation, she stood beside him.
