A few months had passed since Jiro and Izuku's unforgettable day at the skate park. The seasons changed, and with them, their lives at U.A. shifted as well. The air turned crisp, and the colorful autumn leaves painted the ground, creating a vibrant backdrop to their busy school days.
Izuku had become a familiar presence in the skate park, spending more time with Kaito, Ren, and Emi. His nonchalant attitude remained intact, but beneath that cool exterior was a growing bond with Jiro. Their friendship deepened, marked by shared moments and stolen glances, yet they never quite crossed that line into something more—until now.
One day after class, Izuku found himself lingering outside the school gates, waiting for Jiro. He leaned against a railing, casually scrolling through his phone, the sound of laughter and chatter swirling around him. His thoughts drifted back to their times together—laughing, skating, and that first awkward but electrifying kiss.
"Hey, Izuku!" Jiro called out, breaking him from his reverie. She walked towards him, her headphones draped around her neck, a cheerful smile lighting up her face. "Ready to hit the skate park?"
"Yeah, I've been looking forward to it," he replied, a small smile creeping onto his lips. The routine was comforting, but there was an underlying excitement in the air today.
As they skated through the streets, Jiro couldn't help but feel the thrill of their connection. She glanced over at Izuku, who rode effortlessly beside her, his confidence on display. She admired him not just for his skills on the board but for his easygoing nature that drew people in.
Upon arriving at the skate park, they were greeted by the familiar faces of their friends. Kaito, Ren, and Emi were already warming up, their boards clacking against the concrete as they shared jokes and tricks.
"Yo, you two! Finally made it!" Kaito shouted, waving them over. "We were about to start without you."
"Yeah, you guys take forever," Ren teased, grinning.
"Whatever, we just got caught up in school stuff," Izuku shrugged, brushing off the playful banter. Jiro giggled, shaking her head.
As they settled in, the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting long shadows across the park. Jiro grabbed her board and started practicing some new tricks, her focus sharpened. Izuku watched her, admiration swelling in his chest.
"Nice one, Jiro!" he called out as she landed a trick flawlessly.
"Thanks!" she replied, her heart racing from the rush of adrenaline and his praise.
The group spent the evening skating, laughing, and pushing each other to try harder tricks. As the day progressed, Jiro felt an unmistakable tension building between her and Izuku. They exchanged glances, lingering touches, and unspoken words filled the space around them.
As dusk settled in, they decided to take a break. Sitting on the grass, they pulled out drinks and snacks, their conversations flowing easily. The atmosphere was electric, charged with unvoiced feelings that seemed to hover in the air.
"Hey, Izuku," Jiro started, her voice slightly nervous, "do you ever think about what happens after U.A.?"
He looked thoughtful for a moment. "I mean, yeah. I guess I think about being a hero and all that, but I try not to stress about it. What about you?"
"I just want to enjoy what I have right now," she said, her gaze locking onto his. "And, well... I've really enjoyed spending time with you."
Izuku's heart raced at her words. "Same here," he replied, his nonchalant facade slipping just a bit. "It's been... really nice."
Just as the moment began to deepen, Kaito burst into their space, breaking the tension. "Hey! Who wants to try that new rail over there? I'm about to nail it!"
Izuku and Jiro exchanged amused glances, their moment momentarily lost. "Let's go," Izuku said, standing up and stretching. "We can't let Kaito show us up."
As they skated towards the rail, Jiro felt the excitement bubbling up again. She wasn't going to let the moment slip away this time. Maybe she'd find a way to steer them back where they left off—she just needed to figure out how.
With the night closing in and the stars beginning to twinkle overhead, Jiro knew this chapter of her life was just getting started, and she was ready to embrace it—alongside Izuku.
