As the final bell rang at UA, signaling the end of the school day, Jiro walked beside Izuku, who wore his usual casual expression. He seemed unfazed by the chatter around them—students discussing the latest gossip or the skate video that had gone viral.
"Can you believe they're still talking about that?" Jiro asked, rolling her eyes. "It's just skating."
"Yeah," Izuku replied, his tone relaxed. "People like to talk, I guess." He shrugged, not letting it bother him.
They stepped outside into the warm afternoon sun, the world around them buzzing with energy. Jiro glanced sideways at him, admiring how he didn't let anything get under his skin. It was one of the many things she found appealing about him.
As they approached the edge of the school grounds, a soft breeze rustled through the trees. Jiro felt a flutter in her chest. "So, what do you want to do now?"
"Don't know. Maybe hit up the skate park or something," he said, his nonchalance making it sound like a casual suggestion rather than a plan.
"Yeah, sounds good," Jiro replied, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she wanted more than just a typical hangout. They reached a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of other students.
"Hey, Jiro," Izuku said, stopping and turning to face her. "You okay? You seem a bit distracted."
She hesitated for a moment, her heart racing. "I just... I don't know. I've been thinking about a lot of things."
"Like what?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, genuinely curious.
"Just life, I guess. And... us." Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Izuku leaned back against the wall, hands casually shoved in his pockets, a hint of a smirk on his face. "Us? What about us?"
Jiro took a deep breath, feeling a surge of courage. "I like spending time with you, Izuku. A lot."
He nodded slowly, still relaxed but now with a hint of intrigue in his gaze. "Yeah, same here."
Before she could second-guess herself, Jiro stepped closer, closing the distance between them. She looked up into his eyes, searching for any sign of hesitation. Finding none, she leaned in and pressed her lips against his.
The kiss was soft and tentative at first, but Izuku responded in kind, his nonchalance fading as he leaned into her, matching her intensity. It felt like the world around them disappeared, and in that moment, it was just the two of them—lost in a kiss that spoke volumes without a single word.
When they finally pulled away, both a little breathless, Izuku simply shrugged, a casual grin spreading across his face. "Well, that was... unexpected."
Jiro chuckled, feeling light-headed. "Yeah, but in a good way."
"Definitely," he replied, his expression returning to its trademark laid-back charm. "So, about that skate park?"
"Sure," she said, smiling wide as they fell back into their easy banter, but now with an undeniable connection between them.
