Both of them shed their clothing with record speed, and within minutes were in the hot tub, surrounded by the steaming, bubbly water.

"Now this is what I call a Merry Christmas," Freen said.

Becky laughed, then submerged herself in the water and came up, slicking her hair back from her face. This was the first time since the night they'd met that they were actually naked with each other. Though it had only been about two weeks time since the bachelor party, it seemed that she'd known Freen a lot longer. So much had happened.

"Do we have to get right down to it," Freen said, "or is it all right with you if we have a little conversation first?"

"Oh my God, am I really that bossy?"

Freen started to laugh. "No, I just love to tease you."

"We could talk first, if that makes you feel more comfortable."

"It does," Freen said. "If we don't talk a little first, well, then afterward, when I'm all alone.....I just feel so....cheap. Degraded. Sordid. A soiled dove, as it were."

Laughing, she splashed water at her, Freen splashed back, and soon they were engaged in an all-out water fight.

When Freen grabbed her ankle, then her arm, and lifted her up into her arms, Becky finally admitted defeat.

"You're a lot stronger than I am," Becky said.

Freen let go of her instantly, and Becky knew she'd misunderstood.

"I would never do anything to—"

"No, I like that strength. I really do. You......you fascinate me, Freen."

"I do, huh?" Becky could tell Freen really liked hearing this.

"You are truly unlike any woman I've ever met."

"What you're trying to say, as nicely as you can, is that I'm totally outside of your usual social circle."

"No, that's not what I meant."

"Then tell me."

"Most of the men or women I meet are so.......boring. They've been raised with their parent's money, work for their fathers, and have absolutely no initiative of their own. No dreams, nothing to accomplish. You, on the other hand, from everything I've heard about you from Lookkaew, made it on your own."

"You asked her about me?"

"She told me all this way before I crashed the bachelor party. I'd heard all about you years before I met you, but I never thought much about it until I really met you, in flesh. Does that make sense?"

"Sure."

Becky frowned. "Freen, you aren't ever going to tell Anda that it was me at that party, are you? I would feel awful if anything I did that night ever came back to harm Lookkaew's marriage in any way."

"Cross my heart," Freen said, crossing her index finger over her chest. "I wouldn't want to do anything to hurt Anda, either. And I think it really would hurt her if she found out that Lookkaew still didn't trust her the night before their wedding."

Becky had to make her understand. "It wasn't Anda, Freen. It was that jerk before her, the one she found in bed with his old girlfriend. But Anda was the one who was paying for the other guy's behavior."

"I think that's true for all of us, Becky. The things that happen in our past have to color where we are now. Whether we can trust, or love, or even let go and have a good time."

Freen was looking a little too close to comfort for her.

"Did Anda have any issues with trust?" Becky asked, consciously changing the subject.
