Chapter 5: The System

NINE YEARS LATER:

  Ten years old Jesse and Kathie were playing in the space between their families houses, when suddenly a bright golden light started shining down from the heavens and onto them. Aaron and Silas, their fathers, who were both watching over their daughters tried to stand up to help their daughters when an unknown power forced them into a kneeling position and they heard the voice of the beast god.

  "These are my daughters and I have blessed them, for whoever harms them shall die and all who bear their blood shall be cursed to live a miserable life and die a young death."

  After this announcement the power forcing them to kneel disappeared and both girls were suddenly unconscious and dropping to the ground, Aaron and Scott quickly got up grabbed their daughters before they could hit the floor. They nodded at each other and entered their houses.

JESSE'S SIDE:

  As Aaron placed Jesse on the ground he looked up to find his mate and all her other males looking at him with shocked expression on their faces and he was immediately anxious so he tried to explain.

  "It wasn't an attack, I swear it wa-" he was cut of by his mate before he could continue to explain.

  "We know, we saw, felt and heard it all, hell I think everybody saw, felt and heard that." Clara said as she walked over to her daughter and sitting beside her.

  "We need to wait for her to wake up and for her brothers to come back before we talk about what to do next." She said as she kissed Jesse's head.

KATIE'S SIDE:

  Silas dashed inside his mate's house feeling frantic and anxious about both what his mate might think and what happened to his daughter. As soon as he got inside the house, his mate immediately plunged herself in front of him, trying to see what happened to her daughter.

  "Is she okay?, we heard the voice, I hope nothing happened to her?. Oh my god what are we going to do now?. We need to talk to my sister and her mates and-" she would have continued ranting if not for the fact that Samuel placed a hand on her shoulder-something he did whenever she got on a rant- to remind her to take a deep breath.

  "Calm down a little we need to wait for her to wake up and for Sullivan to come back with the boys." Sawyer said, she looked like she wanted to argue bit then decided against it as she released a sigh and nodded.

CORNELIUS'S SIDE:

  Jesse and Katie had heard the announcement made by the beast god and they were quite shocked-to say the least- but they were even more surprised when they suddenly appeared in a strange room with a male that they didn't know. They were about to ask him who he was when he snapped his fingers and a surge of memories hit them.

"Holy fuck, just... holy fuck."

"Yeah a warning would have been appreciated don't you think? Asshat."

Jesse and Katie said as they clutched their heads. Katie stood up slowly before offering her hand to Jesse and dragging her up from the ground. They slowly walked over to the seats that they sat on when they were here the last time.

"Ah, sorry about that. It's been a long time since I last did that, hence, I'm a little clumsy. Anyways it's time for that system that I promised you." Cornelius said before handing both a silver chained necklace with matching pendants. Katie's pendant was a red gem that slowly turned purple in the middle while Jesse's pendant was a blue gem that slowly turned purple in the middle.

"While these are absolutely stunning necklaces you are going to have to give us some guidelines on how to this, because I have zero experience here." Jesse said while turning the necklace over in her hands and Katie nodded along to her words.

"Of course, just put it on and you will know what to do from there on out. Oh and check your inventory I left you both gifts there. Now excuse me I have things to get to.'' Cornelius said before disappearing. Both girls just shrugged in confusion at his hasty departure before putting on their necklaces.

  As soon as their necklaces where in place a light purple screen appeared in front of both of them, the two girls went over their system screens. It was basically the same with different personal stats:

  After making sure that they had the same system, they both pressed the glowing 'INVENTORY' button to check the gifts Cornelius left them. In the inventory they found what looked like a Christmas gift labeled 'open me'.

  They both tapped their gift boxes and here is what they each got:

1. Twenty power stones

2. Five thousand marketplace credits

3. A map

4. Village starter

5. A phone

6. Memory stone

  "Is he asking us to go our separate ways? 'Cause I don't know what to think about that." Jesse said.

  Despite the fact that both girls didn't know each other before their transmigration, they had gotten quite close without the burden of their previous lives.

  "I am not sure, let's check the help tab." Katie replied and proceeded to do that.
