The first rays of dawn filtered through the dusty blinds of Leehan's apartment, casting a pale light over the chaos within. Books lay scattered across the floor, their pages crumpled and torn. Clothes were piled haphazardly in every corner, a testament to the disarray that mirrored Leehan's own turbulent mind. He lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling with bloodshot eyes, the remnants of another sleepless night etched into his features.
Leehan's nights were a battleground, a relentless struggle against the demons of anxiety and sleep paralysis. The darkness offered no solace, only a suffocating silence that amplified his restless thoughts. As the morning light grew stronger, he knew it was time to face another day at the university.
With a groan, Leehan swung his legs over the side of the bed, his feet landing on a pile of clothes. He stumbled, cursing under his breath as he kicked a book out of his way. "Damn it," he muttered, frustration bubbling up inside him. He ran a hand through his disheveled hair, trying to shake off the remnants of his restless night.
Meanwhile, across town, the Han household was a picture of order and tranquility. Taesan, or Han Dongmin as his parents called him, was already up and dressed. His morning routine was a well-oiled machine, each step executed with precision. He sat at the breakfast table with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Han, enjoying a meticulously prepared meal.
"Good morning, Taesan," his mother greeted him with a warm smile. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes, Mother," Taesan replied, his voice calm and measured. "Thank you for breakfast."
Mr. Han looked up from his newspaper, nodding approvingly at his son. "Today is an important day, Taesan. Make sure everything is perfect."
"Of course, Father," Taesan replied, his expression unwavering. He finished his meal, excused himself, and headed to his room to get ready for the day.
Taesan's appearance was immaculate. His dark hair was neatly styled, and his suit was perfectly tailored, exuding an air of authority and sophistication. He adjusted his tie in the mirror, his sharp features reflecting a cold, almost intimidating aura. He was the youngest professor at the university, known for his strict demeanor and high standards. Students both feared and respected him, knowing that he demanded nothing less than excellence.
Back in his apartment, Leehan finally managed to pull himself together. He threw on a wrinkled shirt and a pair of jeans, not bothering to check if they matched. His reflection in the mirror showed a young man with dark circles under his eyes, his expression a mix of defiance and exhaustion. He grabbed his bag and headed out the door, ready to face another day of chaos.
At the university, whispers filled the hallways as students gathered in small groups, discussing the latest news. One of their beloved teachers had retired, and a new professor was taking her place. The air was thick with anticipation and curiosity.
"Have you heard about the new professor?" Jaehyun asked, his eyes wide with excitement. "They say he's the youngest and most talented professor we've ever had."
Woonhak nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "I heard he's super strict though. No one dares to mess with him."
Riwoo and Sungho exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued. "I wonder what he's like," Riwoo mused. "Do you think he'll be as tough as they say?"
As the students filed into the classroom, the atmosphere was charged with nervous energy. Leehan slouched in his seat, his eyes heavy with fatigue. He barely paid attention to the chatter around him, his mind still clouded from lack of sleep.
The door to the classroom opened, and a hush fell over the room. Taesan walked in, his presence commanding immediate attention. He moved with a quiet confidence, his gaze sweeping over the students with a piercing intensity. The girls in the class couldn't help but stare, their admiration evident in their eyes. Even Leehan's friends, Jaehyun, Woonhak, Riwoo, and Sungho, were taken aback by the new professor's charisma.
Taesan stood at the front of the class, his expression stern. "Good morning," he began, his voice steady and authoritative. "My name is Han Dongmin, but you will address me as Professor Han. I expect nothing but the best from each of you. Punctuality, respect, and dedication are non-negotiable. You will make eye contact when I speak to you, and you will submit your work on time. Failure to do so will not be tolerated."
The students exchanged nervous glances, the weight of Taesan's words sinking in. Leehan shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his usual defiance tempered by the professor's imposing presence.
Taesan continued, his gaze unwavering. "I am here to ensure that you reach your full potential. I will not accept mediocrity. If you have any issues, you may speak to me after class. Now, let's begin."
As Taesan launched into his lecture, the students listened with rapt attention, their fear and respect for the new professor growing with each passing moment. Leehan, despite his exhaustion, found himself drawn to Taesan's commanding presence. There was something about the professor's unwavering confidence that struck a chord within him, a stark contrast to his own chaotic existence.
And so, the first day under Professor Han's watchful eye began, setting the stage for a clash of wills and the unfolding of a story that would change both their lives forever.
