The door to the apartment opened and closed. With the sounds of shuffling coming from the entrance, seven young men tensed in anticipation of the news to arrive. From the living room of their small dorm, they sat huddled together on the floor.
Footsteps echoed through the hallway becoming louder, their manager peaked in to see his charge.
"Sejin-hyung," voices mixed together said.
"Hello, boys. Relax a little, will you? So I can share the news."
They returned to their seats, cross legged and on makeshift seats.
Earlier today, they did their usual tasks around the house and duties with the company. This included taking photos and posting on their group's social media. Today's particular subject was the Recipe Blog. For the boys and the managers, it seemed like a normal day where they hope to get even more support online and fans. They got more than they bargained for.
As the post went up, they eagerly awaited fan reactions which were initially good. The eldest member, Seokjin, was always a big draw for fans. His handsome face had a mix of cute and cuddly but his figure also signaled hot. So, it was a no brainer to make the most of his looks for their promotions. In a few hours since posting, the photo blew up. They were excited for such news but quickly became disillusioned when they realized why it happened.
In a dorm filled with young boys who are all degrees of messy, they made an even bigger mess online. Right behind Seokjin's adorable figure, eagle-eyed fans spotted nothing less than a pack of condoms. To anyone who has ever heard of the Korean music scene, it is basic knowledge that dating and sharing their true romantic relationship is a taboo. What would happen to a group such as theirs that just debuted with no means and connections to make things just disappear?
No one was more shaken by this news than Seokjin himself. As the eldest and most ill-prepared to be an idol, how could he cause such a burden to his members? They are so full of talent that could be taken away by his carelessness. Seokjin was inconsolable but he knew he could not break down before this matter was resolved. As the eldest, he had no one to cry to about his fears and disappointment so he held it in.
"Sejin-hyung, please tell us," Namjoon said with a gulp.
"Okay, first, I want you all to take a breath. I know, we have all been stressing over this since it broke out. But in the grand scheme of things, this is not the end of the world. I want to assure you of that."
He looked around to see eager eyes hanging on to his every word, so he continued.
"The PR team already made a response. We will admit to it. Really though, it is what it is. A condom is a condom and this is a dorm full of young boys. That much is understandable. Though, the clarification we made is that it is a comedic gift from some fan. Is that understood?"
