Arranged Disaster

I stormed out of my apartment making my down the busy New York street.

My mom had just finished telling me the news of how I had to marry a guy who I barely knew. She said it was arranged ever since I was born. She also tried making me feel guilty by quoting that I had to go through with it or my dads business would be ruined. She said that the guys parents paid for what my dad had made his successful business into today and that this arrangement was the perfect way to repay them.

Furious was one word I would describe my self right now. Beyond furious.

I walked fast, trying to get to my best friend Kates place. I bumped into people trying to make my way through, when suddenly I tripped and the heel on my right shoe snapped. I stopped abruptly and looked down at my shoe in horror. It completely came off, leaving me with no other option. I clenched my jaw in anger, and thought that this day could not get any worse.

I took it off my foot and held it in my hand. I decided maybe I should get a taxi because Kate lived a good 15 minutes away and with one shoe broken I would probably take an hour.

I walked to the side of the street and whistled for a taxi. Not one stopped and they just kept on driving on by. I sighed frustratingly. I guess I was going to have to walk but I really didn't need this ugly shoe in my hand. My mom always made me wear heels and these were never heels that I liked. I stupidly closed my eyes and flung them behind me. Suddenly I heard a thud and I looked  to the direction of the noise, realizing I just hit this handsome guys head with my heel.

I ran to him kneeling on the ground in horror.

I started shaking him in agony, noticing blood trickle down his head. "Wake up! I didn't mean to! Oh please, please wake up!"

Finally, thank god, he slowly opened his deep green eyes and he looks at me with a look that could kill.

I did so happen to realize, that well, he was my future husband.

But seriously, could my day get any worse?
