3rd person POV
Later that day at lunch, Izana sat with his group of friends, an annoyed scowl on his face. "She's a total idiot," he complained, leaning back in his chair. "And I have to be partners with her. I was practically doing all the work."
Kisaki snorted, clearly amused. "What, Y/n? She doesn't seem that bad."
Izana rolled his eyes. "You don't have to deal with her asking dumb questions. First, she kept staring at me, then she asked if I was busy 'beating people up.' Like, seriously?"
Hanma grinned, nudging Izana. "Sounds like she's curious about you, man. Maybe she's got a little crush."
Izana shot him a glare. "Not happening. She's just annoying, that's all. I'm not wasting time on her outside of this project."
Kakucho, sitting across from Izana, smirked but said nothing. Despite Izana's complaints, the group could sense there was something more behind his irritation. Even if he wouldn't admit it, Y/n seemed to be getting under his skin in a way no one else did.
Ran looked up from his food with a sly grin. "You know, I've noticed something lately. She's all you talk about."
Izana groaned, rolling his eyes. "Because she's annoying, Ran! All she ever does is get lost and act helpless. Then she looks at me with those stupid innocent eyes. Ugh, she's so naïve."
Ran chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Sure, Izana. Sounds like she's really getting to you."
"I'm serious," Izana continued, ignoring the teasing tone. "She's always in the wrong place at the wrong time, acting like the world's some sunshine-filled fairy tale. It's ridiculous. And now I'm stuck doing this project with her."
Kakucho raised an eyebrow. "Seems like she's more than just annoying if she's getting this much attention from you."
Izana shot him a sharp look. "Don't even start. She's just... in the way. That's all."
But even as he spoke, a hint of frustration lingered in his voice, almost as if there was something deeper beneath the surface that he couldn't quite figure out.
The group continued their conversation, drifting from complaints about school rules to other irritating things in their lives. Rindou groaned about the strict dress code, while Ran mocked the pointless assemblies they were forced to attend. Hanma threw in his usual sarcastic remarks, laughing at how ridiculous some of the teachers were.
But as Izana kept talking, somehow, Y/n kept slipping back into the conversation.
"And another thing," Izana muttered, shaking his head, "she's always walking around like she doesn't know where she's going. It's like she's lost all the time. I know she's new to town but come on, just go home."
Ran raised an eyebrow, smirking. "You seem to be paying a lot of attention to her whereabouts, Izana."
Izana shot him a glare but continued, undeterred. "It's hard not to when she keeps bumping into me. And she's so polite—it's annoying. Like, who smiles that much? It's fake! No one's that nice!"
Kakucho snickered. "Or maybe she's just a decent person."
Izana waved him off. "No, it's weird. And her stupid sewing club friends—she's probably joining that too. It's like she's trying to be part of everything."
Hanma leaned in, grinning. "You know, for someone you find so irritating, you sure do talk about her a lot."
Izana huffed, crossing his arms. "She's just... impossible to ignore."
