AUTUMN HATED TO admit it, but the main reason she didn't want to go out was because there was no use.

The whole point of Hazel and Autumn going out was to meet people. Girls, guys, whoever. Someone they could have fun with, maybe someone to love.

Hazel wasn't one to indulge in relationships. She's had her fair share, of course, but nothing ever exceeded 3 months.

Autumn, on the other hand, seemed to love too much. However, her so-called loving streak came to an end the moment she met Nicholas. Everyone around Autumn, herself included, immediately assumed that the two would be together forever.

It just made sense! Autumn and Nicholas. It rolled off the tongue — it sounded right.

So, the entire night, while Hazel was flirting, dancing, and drinking, Autumn stayed seated. When Hazel asked what was wrong, Autumn simply said she was tired. She didn't want to flirt or mingle with strangers whose bed she would wake up in the next morning. It wasn't because she was upset or because she missed Nicholas.

Despite her claims, even Hazel knew the truth. Autumn would never say it aloud, but she had truly never stopped thinking that Nicholas was the one for her. In turn, she knew the real reason why she didn't want to mingle nor flirt.

Because why would she waste her time with someone who wasn't the one? Why would she waste her time with someone who wasn't Nicholas?
