THE VILLAGER
ʚɞ Ruth ʚɞThe ocean was a captivating sight to see, the waves meeting the dock I am perched on, watching as the ships leave out, hovering above the water, seeking out on a journey I am not too sure of myself. Ladies from the village are at the edge of the cliff, waving at their loved ones who had left on the ship with tears in their eyes.
It saddened me watching the scene take place, not knowing if their partner would ever return. Dipping my naked feet into the water, it relaxed me from the ladies a distance away.
It reminds me of the time Timothy and I were together. We loved to watch the boats take sail through the water, being free; leaving Lockwood.
Hands clutch my waist, tilting my being over the dock as I let out a yelp. Gripping onto Timothy's suspenders because if I was going down, he shall go down with me.
His chuckles ring into my ears, and he brings me back to the dock. I hit his chest playfully. "You cannot mess around like that, you could have accidentally dropped me."
He chuckles, a boyish smile takes over his features. The sunset fades over his face, allowing me to see all the creases, all the flaws in his face, but nothing more pleasing was a gentleman who had faults. Timothy was the most beautiful ever created, I disliked the fact that all the ladies around Lockwood could have a taste of him. I was not the one to ever get jealous, but Timothy Hampton could have anyone going mad.
My eyes linger over the village, ladies that are passing by are eyeing us from afar, their eyes are lingering across Timothy's hands on my waist, and I awkwardly cough.
He tightens his grip on my waist causing me to look up at his gaze. He looks drunk, his eyes are passionate; deepening as my eyes meet his. It takes my breath away and I have no words to call this moment.
"I could never drop you when you fit too well into my hands," his voice slices over me. So hot. That is what I feel.
"People are looking..." I remind as his head leans down a little, his eyes flickering to my lips.
He whispers. "Shall we give them something to look at?" His lips are so close. Yet so far away.
"Nice try." Patting his cheek, I push at his chest, clutching my own as my heart feels like it is about to fall out of my being. Escaping from his hold, I travel back into the village with eyes lurking near, arms wrap around my shoulders that have me looking up at Timothy.
He sends small waves at the ladies gawking at him. They all wave their fans at their faces, blushing at his attention they have gotten. Something eats inside me, but I am not sure what.
Hearing him sigh beside me, he has no care in the world that everyone can see us. "What shall we do?"
"Mhh, do you know what I am thinking?" Smirking, I ask.
A sly smile falls upon his lips, and his head nods. He interlocks his fingers with my own, his hand clasping with mine as he tugs me to the bakery to have our favorite treat.
-
We were back at the dock, shoving honey battered croissants with ham in the middle. A fine sweet, but salty treat that fills our belly's for the time being. Once Timothy finished his, he tried biting off of mine, but I pushed at his chest to keep him off my food.
"You hog." I laugh out.
"Sharing is caring, Ruth." He holds those puppy dog eyes that are so hard to argue or say no to. He butters me up enough for me to feed him the rest of my treat, and he licks the honey from my fingers. His tongue is quick, his eyes are slicing through me as he keeps our gazes locked.
