Chapter One: The Fucking Wedding

I stare at my significantly average black heels wondering why in the hell I was here. Seriously, why? I spent every waking moment of my life being that boring average girl, getting that boring average job, and liking that same guy all the girls love, to not even get him.

I put myself into this cycle, too afraid to escape my relaxing seat in the comfort zone maybe that was why I was always friend zoned too. Nothing exciting ever happened in my life, and right now at this very moment, standing at this wedding for my best friend marrying the guy of MY dreams was as exciting as my pathetic life would ever get.

I really wanted a drink now.

"Could you be looking for this?" the clink of glasses rings through the small room cheerfully.

I gaze up at my friend, knowing all to well that he was watching the face of utter happiness spring forth.

"You are a total lifesaver!" I squeal as we pop open the champagne.

"Honey, I'll be there anytime for you." Daniel kissed my cheek softly. Sometimes I wish he wasn't gay, and maybe, just maybe my nonexistent love life wouldn't suck big hairy balls.

"Can you crash this wedding?" I look up at him with pleading eyes.

He turned away at that, "You know that is one thing I couldn't do." He bit his lip nervously as he ran his fingers through his messy chocolate hair.

"I know. You're one of the good ones. I don't know why you don't have a boyfriend yet." I frown at my boring heels again.

"Hey! Don't bring my nonexistent love life into the picture!" Daniel chugged his glass of champagne at that.

I shrugged, ignoring him, and focused on how I was going to survive the next few hellish hours. God knows I needed it.

Instead a buzz of my phone was the distraction my poor soul needed. I took a glimpse at the notification, and had to do a double take. There was one new reply on my blog that I had posted last night in my depression of the upcoming wedding.

Clicking it, I fervently read the text of my one and only new blogger replier:

Wow! This is like totally depressing, but moving. I can't believe you have survived living such an average life for so long. How could you just let your best friend take that cute barista away? And can I say yum? He sounds hot!

Anyways, sorry about that random incoherent babble, I actually quite enjoyed this read. I like your style miss @averagebrunette. I hope to see more guides or blogs from you in the future.

My jaw dropped at someone actually saying they liked something of mine. No one ever said they liked anything from me. And here I was rereading this blog from a random stranger in the world called hoppittychick101.

Well hoppittychick101, you just made my day a little brighter. I smiled at the words on my screen.

"What are you creepily smiling at?" Daniel gawked at my overly happy face.

"Nothing. Just this little blog website that I decided to join. I posted my first blog on it, and I liked the comment on it." I clutch my phone at the one thing keeping me sane right now.

"You blog? When did this start happening?" He sat on the windowsill ushering me over to the window seat.

"Well..." I mutter quietly to myself, wondering if I should tell him or not as I plop my tiny butt in the seat.

"Well?" he pushed, filling our cups up again.

I take a sip, glaring at his pushiness, "I just couldn't handle the wedding." I whisper out pathetically.
