Chapter 3 - Tough Decisions

Sighing, Lemon had walked into its house. How could it have ever done that to Maddy without consent?! Was Lemon becoming a predator!? How could Lemon have made Maddy a victim!!!???? Lemon scampered its way to its room, plopped itself face first into a body pillow of Maddy, Lemon soon started to wail ever so.

"Now Maddy-san will never talk to me again!!!"

Maddy was hugging the cat plush, curled up on their bed. What were they to do? As much as Maddy was desperate for a girlfriend... who knew that Maddy would be in this kind of situation with a Lemon. Did Maddy even like Lemon like that? Maddy's head was all over the place. Maddy didn't even know where to start. Maddy then got an epiphany, Maddy should text Teto and ask them for help. Maddy grabbed faer phone, opened their favorite app, discord, and tapped away.

"Hey, Teto, I need advice." -Maddy

"What's up?!" -Teto

"Well, Lemon invited me to the arcade. I went and we had a good time.." -Maddy

"Hmm. Who would have thought you, of all people, would go outside. You're wayyy too addicted with being online. Anyway, what else happened?" -Teto

"Lemon pulled me towards it and we kissed! I don't know what to do!! Lemon likes me romantically and it's overwhelming!" -Maddy

Teto could feel their fingers clutch the phone tightly as Teto's eyes scanned over the letters that formed into words Teto had no desire to ever acknowledge. Maddy? Lemon? Kissing?!? Teto had liked Maddy for the longest time and hopes were stolen because of a damn yellow lemon! Teto was furious.

"Do you even like Lemon that way? I don't think it would work out." -Teto typed hoping it would somehow get to Maddy to shut whatever this situation was down.

"I don't know!!! Lemon seems so nice and all, I just wish things would go at a slower pace." -Maddy

"So you do want things to progress? You have a liking towards Lemon.?" -Teto.

"Yeah, maybe I do." -Maddy

Sending this message Maddy pressed their upper and bottom lip together. Twirling their hair. Not knowing what in the world to do.

On the other hand, Teto was about to scream. Teto should have never encouraged Maddy to talk to that stupidass Lemon dipping its yellow fingers in black coffee at the café that day.

Teto was going to have to talk things out to the Lemon herself.

"Hey Maddy. Can I have Lemon's discord? Maybe I could work as a third party and ask Lemon some things and inform you. Kind of like a spy~" -Teto

"Sure. Sounds good! Just don't let Lemon know about our conversation and don't be too harsh." -Maddy

"Promise that I won't~!!" -Teto

"Alright. It's lemonsan0435." -Maddy

"Thanks! Love ya!" Teto.

Teto smirked and went to message Lemon.

"Hey! I know you are great friends with Maddy. Was wondering if you wanted to become closer than acquaintances. Wanna meet up somewhere?" -Teto

"Oh! Hiya! UwU. ( yes this is Lemon's true form of texting.) Yea! That sounds great, where would we meet up?" -Lemon

"Maybe at a park? Pretty open space and the weather has been alright lately." -Teto

"Sounds perfect!! U-U When would we meet up? Next week?" -Lemon

Teto winced at the way Lemon typed.

"Today if you can. If not tomorrow." -Teto

"Eek! Didn't know you meant same day. U-um. S-sure Teto-kun.. what time?" -Lemon

"Around 7:30pm." -Teto

"Alright! See ya :2" -Lemon

"Thanks! See you soon!" -Teto.

Teto was very joyous, gleaming with delight. Lemon was so gullible. Teto had a good idea on how to get Lemon to fend away from Maddy.

7:30pm came around and Teto was already waiting at a park bench, Teto sent the location a few minutes ago, so Lemon should be there any minute. Hearing gentle footsteps from petite yellow feet, Teto looked up to see Lemon.

"Hey! Good to see ya~!" Teto put a facade of a smile on their face.

"Hey Teto-kun! It's fantastic to see you!" Lemon replied slowly.

"Wanted to speak to you about something, it will be quick. This kind of conversation just had to be in person." Teto patted the bench, signaling for Lemon to take a seat.

Lemon sat down and looked at Teto nervously. Like a kid who was just told by their father they needed to have a 'serious talk.'

"I heard about you having a thing for Maddy. You'd better back off. Maddy doesn't even like you in that way. You can give it up." Teto spoke slowly, making sure diction was on point and every word came across like bullets.

Lemon was shocked, tears whelming in the eyes Lemon shook its head.

"How would you know that!! It can't be!! It would be understandable if Maddy-san didn't like me that way but I can't give up Teto-kun!!" Lemon vigorously began.

"Listen here, if you don't stop talking to Maddy and keep trying to shoot your shot, I'm gonna sell you to the market so you can get squeezed to fresh lemonade you hear me?" Teto argued with a dominating demeanor.

Lemon shivered, this really couldn't be. Lemon loved Maddy. Lemon had the understanding that after the kiss it would be reasonable for Maddy not to like it back, but what Teto was demanding was something Lemon couldn't follow through with. Even if the romantic attraction wasn't mutual, to still have Maddy for a friend and talk to everyday was enough.

Although, Teto was demanding Lemon never speak to Maddy again! Lemon just couldn't do that!

"I'm calling Maddy to get a true answer!!" Lemon replied getting its phone out.

Teto gritted their teeth, just hoping that somehow Maddy wouldn't say that they like Lemon back.

Maddy picked up the phone to a panicked Lemon.

"Maddy-san! I love you so much! I can only hope you can reciprocate. It's either me or Teto-Kun you can choose from! Hurry and tell us!" Lemon demanded of Maddy.

Maddy was at a dead end, not knowing what to do. Maddy put too much faith into Teto and now the situation wasn't good. Maddy had to choose. Is it Teto, or Lemon?
