"welcome home honey," my mother beamed as I rolled my eyes. It was finally the weekend and my father had just arrived from his long trip, I honestly hated him- why did he have to come here? He should've just stayed in that stupid city being the workaholic dad he is.
"Mmm, thanks" he nodded with his usual nonchalant tone as sierra jumped onto him for a hug.
"Dad!" She cheered.
"Sierra! My, you've grown so big" he said.
Yeah dad, of course she did, unless you expect us all to stay young and the same size forever.
I scoffed at his comment as he glanced at me.
"Elliana, how are you?" He asked stretching out his arms. He was probably expecting a hug but too bad dad, I was not in the mood.
"I'm great, welcome back" I said in a cold tone then walked past him towards my room.
"Elliana Roberts! Get back here right now!" My mother's screeching voice echoed around me but I still locked my door which muffled her screams. I sighed then layed on my bed.
The week had been hectic and I was so exhausted- me and Astrid got closer, I avoided Lola and Ashley, Jessica had been giving me meaningful glares and that guy that usually kept staring at me was related to Astrid! I repeat, HE'S RELATED TO ASTRID!!! And I figured out his name! Okay, flashback to Thursday.
Flashback.
It was a really cloudy weather (my favourite weather by the way) and it was closing time, while everyone were going home before it started pouring, Astrid and I decided to hangout again at the basketball court since our moms were picking us up late due to work.
So as we sat down, I brought out the shawarma I made for myself at home in the morning and shared it with Astrid when all of a sudden the ball came flying towards us and it hit me in the face- some boys were snickering, some boys looked away feeling guilty but all I knew was that most of them were laughing and I felt so embarrassed. I caught Astrid shooting them all a glare except for this one particular guy (yes, we all know who he is) I didn't look up but I could hear Astrid telling off a guy as she rubbed my face.
"Oh my god Jayden, I knew you were sort of clumsy but not this clumsy..."
"I'm not clumsy? I've never been clumsy in my life" I heard a familiar voice retaliate.
"Just shut up and apologize"
"Okay, I'm sorry jeez"
"Uh? Not to me dum dum"
"Okay, how the heck I'm I going to apologize to her if you're covering her like some mother goose Astrid?"
"Fine then"
Astrid stopped rubbing my face then helped me get up and when I made eye contact with the guy, my jaw dropped, it was the guy with the freaking blue eyes, as if he realized who I was his eyes widened also as we just stupidly stood there looking into each others eyes, I nervously watched his Adam's apple go up and down while I fiddled with my fingers.
"Jayden?!" The guy, Jayden, snapped back to reality.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, for hitting your face..." He trailed down as I nodded.
"It's okay," I said, not recognising my voice because it was barely a whisper "how do you two know each other?"
"Oh, he's my cousin," Astrid said as I nodded.
"Well, I've got to go now..." He said picking up the ball then turned around running towards his friends.
"Next time don't go hitting balls on people's faces clumsy!" Astrid called out as all his friends laughed and kept giving him bonks playfully on his shoulders but my eyes never left his.
Jayden, so that was his name.
And he's related to Astrid which makes my job much more easier.
End of flashback.
I couldn't believe it at all.
I sighed still recalling the sweet memory when I heard a knock on my door.
"Mother says dinner's ready..." I heard Sierra's voice behind the door as her footsteps trailed off.
Great, this was where the drama would start....
Might as well wish me luck.
