' Flashback '

After the sparring match Spencer sat on the cool stone bench outside the arena, wiping sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. Her body ached, but it was nothing compared to the burning frustration in her chest caused by the whispers and the pitying looks from the few people around them,or at least those who knew of her alignment...

She hated it all. Everyone seeemed to see her as only another Omega now,as fragile and in need of protection, when all she wanted was to prove her strength.

Her hands still shook slightly from the adrenaline, but she refused to let the exhaustion show in any other way. The last thing she needed was anyone's pity, especially today.

As she tried to calm herself, focusing only on her breathing, Spencer noticed something odd. Her heart wasn't just racing from the fight , rather there was a strange, steady warmth spreading through her body or rather... a pull that seemed to tug at her core. It was something deep and unfamiliar, causing her to frown slightly at the feeling, her right hand drifting almost reflexively to her chest as if trying to quiet the strange sensation.

It was like... someone was near her. Someone important.

She looked up, and her hazel eyes locked with Louis Dupont's, who was now leaning casually against one of the arena's pillars, his bright blue eyes watching her with an intensity that made her stomach flip a few times. Louis wasn't just standing there out of idle curiosity ,no ,his gaze was ... somehow... different, as if it was charged with something she didn't quite understand.

Suddenly, the pull intensified, and Spencer's breath hitched slightly in her throat as her Omega senses flared to life, causing a sudden overwhelming awareness of him. The scent she'd barely registered before, spicy yet somehow comforting with a hint of something warm, like the summer sun,now filled her senses before slowly sinking into her bones. Its the same scent from the infirmary, isn't it? It must be. It's him. He's my Alpha.

Her heart hammered in her chest , it's beat almost deafening, drowning out her spiraling thoughts.

Louis, who was still standing across the arena felt it too. The moment their eyes met, something inside him seemed to click as the Alpha part of him , the one he'd always been able to keep in check, unexpectedly surged forward, as if it had recognized Spencer in a way that went beyond simple attraction.

It wasn't just her scent, which was undeniably intoxicating to him, slightly sweet, like a flower of some kind with a hint of rain on stone mixed in with bit of old parchment. It was more than that as if there was a deep sense of... knowing. It felt as if every instinct in his body screamed that she was his.

He swallowed hard, suddenly feeling the overwhelming need to protect her, to be near her. She's... my Omega . My future mate. The thought came into his mind unbidden, and Louis blinked in surprise at how certain it felt. His entire body tensed, as if readying to move toward her, to offer something,be it comfort, reassurance, or anything else she needed but ...something in her posture stopped him from doing anything.

Spencer was looking away from him now, her jaw clenched and her entire frame stiff with tension . It seemed like she was fighting against something.

Louis could feel it, could feel how hard she was trying to resist the bond. His Alpha instincts flared again, urging him to close the distance between them, but he forced himself to stay put. This wasn't about him, not yet. She needs space, for now. Do not approach her.
