"Ace and River are in the lobby," I informed August.

"Fucking eternity later, they finally arrived." He annoyingly said.

Ngumisi ako. "Saan ka ba naiinis? Sa pagiging late nila o dahil hindi ikaw ang nadestino sa Siargao?"

"Puta, parehas! In your opinion, does Ace really have to be there? Hell no, right? I am the one who deserves to be there." He slams the table. "Ni hindi nga niya kayang magpaligaya ng babae."

Natawa ako ng malakas sa rason niya. "Gago."

"Totoo naman."

"Napaghahalatang puro babae inaatupag mo sa trabaho."

"What can I do if I excel at both of those things?" He shrugged.

Umiling-iling na lang ako. Wala na akong balak patulan ang pinagsasabi ng lalaking ito dahil kahit anong sabihin ko ang ending pa rin naman ay kung gaano siya kagaling sa kama. Oo at pare-pareho kaming mga babaero—pwera kay River na matagal ng retired sa pagiging babaero.

Pero numero uno talaga si August. He's the type of guy who never goes a night without a girl by his side.

The glass door to the office where I and August were waiting suddenly opened. Two tall men entered the room. They are both tanned. At ngising aso lang ang binungad sa amin ni Ace. Tangina, gago talaga, eh. Nakasuot pa ng pang beach attire ang loko.

"Don't assume I didn't try to stop him. He insisted on wearing it," River said right away, even though we hadn't asked him yet.

"He's doing it because he knows you'll be pissed," I told August.

"I missed you guys it's been two weeks."

"Just zip your fucking mouth, Ace," August said, still feeling irritated.

Natawa naman ang alaskador. Halatang balak pang sundan ang pang-iinis sa pikon pero pinigilan ko na.

"Just do as he says, Ace," sita ko. "Kung ayaw mong mapatungan 'yang sunburn mo ng black-eye."

Although we are all in our 30s, I have to admit that there are times when we act immaturely, especially when we are together.

"Okay, fine. Kalma na. What's the agenda for today?" tanong ni Ace.

Nakatingin silang tatlo sa akin para abangan ang sasabihin ko. "The owner of this hotel hired our agency to handle all of their security."

River is our leader. He was the one who thought of and formed our group. We are under a security agency specifically for high-profile business owners. But because he was away for two weeks, I am the one who met with the client.

"Bakit kailangan kumpleto pa tayong apat ngayon?" Naguguluhan na tanong ni Ace.

Tumikhim si River. "The owners of this hotel are the Chuas."

Hindi umimik ang dalawa dahil kilalang-kilala namin ang mga Chua. Ilang beses na nila kaming na-hire kapag may private events sila. We are also responsible for the security of some of their other businesses, both inside and outside the country. Pero itong hotel na ito ang pinaka malaki naming mahahawakan na sa kanila.

"Sino raw ba ang i-me-meet natin?" tanong ni August. Gusto lang niya malaman kung pwede niyang maiuwi mamayang gabi kung sakali iyon.

"The one and only heir of the Chuas," I answered.

"Si Xeres?" Paniniguro ni Ace pero parang si River ang direkta niyang tinanong.

Tumingin kaming lahat kay River hinihintay kung ano ang isasagot—kahit alam ko naman ang sagot.
