but what would you have done?

when the justice system is wrapped around in a finger of whoever is in charge- when the level of a certain justice is altered to favor the higher ones, when it was not meant for the people who needed it the most?

that was byulyi's principle.

that was always her principle as a student back then- before she pursued law.

however, she didn't choose persecution- nor being a judge.

to her, living in that life would just mean altering her judgment based on who she'd be defending.

and she hated that.

so when the unauthorized assignment of the vice president's case was given to her- she felt antagonistic, full of hatred at how she needed to find the evidences favoring the vice president.

she knew that this rumor started from a base of truth, just like how normal ones does. the minority of those complaints were out of manipulation created by psychos, but these are...

painted truth.

she knew that well.

so for the rumors to start this way, she knew that kim seokjin will be more than an ounce of guilty for them to request his involvement in her investigation. for this to be an open case, byulie thinks that it's hilarious and pointless.

she begged the court many times to remove her from the involvement- requested kang seulgi to replace her as an investigator. but to his team's rebuttal; she's the investigator that has the cleanest record, trusting that she'll be fair into the entirety of this case.

but she knows that the judges will be in his favor.

because nobody wants to mess with a seated official.

so within' those days that she had been reading through his previous political records, she couldn't connect dots. the thing with her cases before was- there were dots to connect.

but this time, it was like a blank canvas.

none of the things she wanted to see was being seen- and the things that she fears for, was the one coming up. every single article and records that his office was doing, everything was for his name's goodness.

she never had clicked once with the idea of kim seokjin. it was not like she hated him, she knew that there are records of him being well with the public of the country, he does things that weren't done before- but to her own belief, that won't make him innocent.
