On the edge of the village, in a stable yet poorly made home of sticks and stones, a little legless blue wildberry cake is drawing with a makeshift quill with some ink and scraps of papyrus she could find. As a legless red velvet cake sweeps the dusty floors with a makeshift broom she crafted with a large branch and straw. "Doth thou very hast to try that right 'i the middle of the floor, Berry?" the older one asks the little cake, in which Berry looks up at her older sister, "It's the only place that's flat enough and cleared to, big sister" "doth thou e'en hast thy chores done?" the little cake looked to the floor, "no..." the red velvet lightly patted Berry's back with the broom "then get up, thou hast fun later," the red velvet cake said with a stern look, as the little cake picked up the stuff she was using and put them back where she found it.

As the sisters went back to their chores, Cherry finally gets home. Unlocking the door to let himself in before locking it back up. Putting his two baskets on the floor with an exhausted breath. The red velvet cake turned to him as he went to add the coal he managed to buy with the remains of the last two weeks, "Finally back from the market, dear brother?" "ay, this was all i could get thou, Coco. 'tis will be another tight one till next time again." Coco nodded understandably, "Where's Berry?" Cherry asked while putting the other basket up and took off his hood. "she's 'i the back hanging the wash" "now why she is doing that, that's not one of her chores?" "She got distracted and must have forgotten which were her's."

Cherry went to the roofed back entrance to find his littlest sister standing on stacked chairs to reach the propped up stick drying sticks, to put the river washed tunics and trousers on. With a soft smile, Cherry came up beside her and helped her with the remaining clothes. Patting her head and speaking with a voice as motherly as a dove, "thou wot this is an older person job, little bear. thou art still so mitely and still not firm-set enough." "Sorry, big brother." "do not apologize, thou were just too focused on getting all's done, right?" Berry nods as Cherry picks her up and pushes a bit of her top frosting that has slightly slid down back up. As he takes her back inside he spoke again. "then thou are fine, little bear. Now, what were thou distracted by?" Putting her down, Berry went to the table she put the stuff she was using to draw and grabbed the scrap of papyrus with her drawing. It wasn't great, it's just a new-to-art kid level, but it was the window facing towards the fields and forests of the outside.

Cherry takes the piece of scrap papyrus and inspects it, chuckling a bit, "oh, a mitely drawing? that's all that thy sister was bidding a distraction? that's adorable, just compose sure next time chores are done if thou decide to draw again." Berry nods, "okay, big brother." he crouches down, "hey, and maybe if there's enough shillings next time around, I can get you some better tools for you. should thee keep doing thou chores. how does that sound?" Berry smiles, before the smile fades a bit. Confused, Cherry cups her face and looks into her eye, "doth something bother thou, little bear?" "...Big brother, why canst not we leave this house? why can only thou leave?" after a while, with a sigh and smile, "thou wot why. 'tis too dangerous out there for young like thou and thy sister. I do not crave to possibly lose thou two aswell." "but then why can't we come with you, then? if it's dangerous." "'tis just too dangerous for thou, little bear. brother knows what's meetest for thou, and I just crave to keep thou two safe." "yet I do lack to see the things thou see when thou art out, big brother." Cherry laughs and stands up, "now now, then thou forbear thinking about doing such dangerous things, little bear. Here, come help me with the night fire. The sun is setting now, and the cold shall be ruthless tonight. that should'st get thy mind off such thoughts." Cherry holds one of Berry's hands as she looks back at a window over the table, while they walk away.
