JAZZ

I got dressed because I can't believe as a 15 year old I would getting a degree. I love how my parents paced the way and set the foundation for me. I feel like I owe the world. Oh that's right, we haven't talked since Musiq's first birthday. Well it's the end of 2027 and I'm getting ready to graduate. We just finished having Tempo and Bluez party in the Bahamas. Musiq has a hearing problem and he wearing hearing aids when he wanted too. It's not a set thing. We all had to learn sign language which was cool. He can still hear but not a lot but we sign when needed.

"Jazz hurry up we have to drop you off at the school." Fatima said.

"Okay I'm coming." I said back. Oh if you better on my parents were going to have a baby you might wanna cash that in. Musiq was NOT the last baby. She's having another baby but we don't know the gender of the baby yet. They want to keep it surprise. Musiq hasn't been a fan of the word baby.

I fixed my tie in the mirror as I go over my summa cum laude speech. You guessed it out of a class of 250, I was number one. I worked my butt off to be here. I had a feeling something was off. I brushed it off as jitters to speak in-front of people. It was never my strongest because I tend to studded but I learned to focus on my words and slow down. I smoothed my shirt down before I made it down the stairs.

"About time you look sharp Jazzy" my mom said giving me a hug.

"Thank you mom." I said pulling back and making sure my shirt wasn't wrinkled. I wanted to look my best. I got my braces off last month and I was feeling myself. I had my hair braided and was looking like that nigga. I adjusted my Rolex on my wrist and my Van Cleef.

"Alright Taylor's, let's load up into the sprinter." My dad said and everyone was making either way to the door. My momma waddling and Musiq copying her.

"MuMu let's go potty first," I said grabbing his hand to go to the guest bathroom. We made it to the bathroom and he used it. I cleaned him up and washed his hand.

"Hev cand?" Musiq asked me.

"No you can't have candy." I said and signed at the same time. He pouted and took his hearing aid off and put it in my hand.

"Okay imma hold on to it but you have to put it on, once we get to the school." I said and signed. He signed okay.

I picked him up and we made it to the sprinter. He was like having a child. He started to be a Jazzy kid instead of a mommy or daddy boy. I wasn't mad at it. I made sure he was buckled into his car seat and we were ready to go.

We made it to the school and I got dropped off while my parents went to find somewhere to sit.

"Young Taylor." The dean said.

"Yes sir." I said turning on my heel and walking him way.

"Do you have your speech prepared?" He asked me and I was a little taken aback.

"Yes sir, that isn't something I would procrastinate on. I take this very seriously." I said to him.

"Okay this is all new to me. My apologies if I rubbed you the wrong way. You are the first person to graduate from this school at 16." He said to me.

I smiled on the inside. I gave him a slight smile. "It's fine sir. I am honored to be graduating from here at a young age. My parents raised me right and education isn't something they took lightly." I told him and he nodded.

"Well congratulations Taylor." He said as he patted my shoulder. It felt off. I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I went to where all the other graduates were.
