Don't come to school tomorrow

We both stood there silent while everyone seemed to be moving, he wore a hoodie that covered his facial features and when he finally looked up at me, I was scared, one of his eyes looked bloodshot, red, like it was punched, and he looked like he had a burn at the left side of his face, how has nobody seen this.

"Why did you help me today" said the quiet kid with a serious look in his eyes

"Umm, because you looked like you needed some help" I replied

He looked down at his feet and chuckled

"That's a first," he said

He looked me in the eyes and his focus pierced me like a spear

"Don't come to school tomorrow" he said

And with that, he hung his black backpack and began walking towards the school gate.

A patrol car zoomed past the county's mall, it was the patrol car of Officer Mondrich who was the sheriff of the town and his assistant was Officer Chibueze.

Both officers were quiet because they were both in deep thought. Mr Mondrich parked the car at the mall parking lot

"Let's go eat something," he said to Officer Chibueze

"We should patrol one more time," Chibueze said

"Minus my boyfriend who offed himself, this town is pretty peaceful," said Mr Mondrich as he jammed the driver door shut

"How's your boy holding up" Said Chibueze as he got out of the car

"He's good" Mr Mondrich replied with a sigh

They both walked into the mall and it was busy as usual, some came to see a movie, some to shop but both officers just wanted to grab a drink and a Hotdog.

"Can I get two Hotdogs please and two slushies?" said Mr. Mondrich as they got to the front of the Hotdog stall while Chibueze just looked around him, the mall was packed, but he spotted a familiar face in the crowd, someone that was supposed to be dead

"Aye Mon, give me a minute," said Chibueze as he made his way through the crowd

"If I finish my Hotdog before you get back, I might as well start eating yours Chibs," Said Mr Mondrich

Chibueze made his way through the crowd with so much speed, shoving people from his way because he had just seen a ghost, he made his way through the crowd and entered the shopping mall, and he could swear he had seen something, someone.

As he entered the shopping mall he didn't see the person anymore, he removed his hand from the holster of his gun

and walked swiftly past the crowd to the Hotdog stand where Mr Mondrich was seated and eating another Hotdog

"Mon, I think I'm going crazy," said Chibueze

"What the fuck you talking about Chibs" replied Mr Mondrich

He tried to clean the Hotdog sauce that had stained his shirt as he was eating

"I just saw Annie" replied Chibueze

"That's some raw bullshit," Said Mr. Mondrich as he adjusted his seat and his face turned pale, he still had grease from the Hotdog on his mouth

"That kid is dead"

"I saw her lifeless body" he added

But there's something about Chibueze that everyone in the county knows, he can never forget things, he'd solved multiple theft cases with his photographic memory and his memory was never wrong
