Finally, the discussion wound down and everyone began to disperse. The families were talking amongst themselves, already discussing what the wedding would look like. Shubman and Y/N were left alone for a moment.

Shubman let out a deep breath, his shoulders drooping as he let his facade fall. He looked at Y/N, who also seemed tired and overwhelmed. They stood there in silence, not sure what to say to each other after the show they had just put on for their families.

Y/N was the first to speak. "Well, we did it. We convinced them that we're excited to get married," she said, her voice a bit flat. She ran a hand through her hair and looked at Shubman with weary eyes.

Shubman nodded, feeling a mix of resignation and annoyance. "Yeah, I guess we did. I can't believe we actually went along with this whole contract marriage idea," he said, not trying to hide his irritation this time.

Y/N sighed and leaned back against the wall. "It's done now. And we've both agreed to it. There's no going back," she said, sounding tired. She looked at him with a hint of defiance in her eyes.

Shubman let out a huff, feeling trapped. "I know there's no going back. But that doesn't mean I have to like it," he said, crossing his arms. He avoided looking directly at her, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation.

Y/N rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed by his attitude. "No one's asking you to like it. But you can at least try to act like you're not hating every moment of this," she retorted.

Shubman looked at her, his irritation growing. "And why should I? This whole situation is ridiculous. We don't even know each other and we're agreeing to get legally married. It's insane," he said, his voice rising slightly.

Y/N raised her voice to match his. "I know it's insane. I'm not thrilled about it either. But I don't see any other option. This is just how things are," she said, her frustration boiling over.

Shubman stepped closer to her, his eyes narrowing. "So we're going through with this crazy plan just because it's 'how things are'? That's a lame excuse. There are always other options," he said, his voice low and heated.

Y/N didn't back down. "Like what? What other options do we have?? If we don't go through with this, our families will never let us hear the end of it," she said, practically yelling at this point.

Shubman took another step towards her, his jaw clenching. "So we're sacrificing our own happiness just to please our families? How is that fair? This is our life, not theirs," he said, his voice filled with anger and resentment.

Y/N let out a bitter laugh. "Fair? Fair has nothing to do with it. This is about duty and responsibility. We have to do what our families want, that's our destiny," she said, her voice laced with sarcasm and bitterness.

Shubman's eyes flashed angrily. "Destiny is bullshit. We don't have to follow every demand that our families make. We're human beings, not puppets," he said, his voice rising again.

Y/N raised her voice to match his. "I know it's insane. I'm not thrilled about it either. But I don't see any other option. This is just how things are," she said, her frustration boiling over.
