“Welcome back Amity. So, are you going to help me, or do I have to find someone else?”
He stopped laughing, staring at me. He seemed more injured and weak than before.
“Who the hell are you?” I snapped right back at him. He paused, looking at me, like he
was thinking.
“Koa.” As soon as he said that, the skin on his chest ripped open, straight to his ribs. He
began to cough up blood violently. Stumbling backwards in surprise, not wanting the blood to
touch me. I frowned, this seemed awfully familiar.“I’ve seen that happen before,” I said, keeping my distance. “That happened when
someone lied to Dahari.”
“Just help me. Free me. Please? I can give you something, something you’ve always
wanted,” His grim expression quirked into a smile, and blood fell out of his mouth again, but
he ignored it, “The power to destroy those who have wronged you, the power to alter the past,
the future, and the present. Unimaginable power and possibilities. If you help me.”
“You can’t do that. You’re weak. And there’s now way you have that kind of power.” I
snapped back.
“Don’t underestimate a god, Amity.” He teased.
“You’re not a god. There isn’t a god with the name Koa.”
“You already figured out I’m lying about my name being Koa.”
“Yea, but you haven’t told me your real name”
“It's Koa.” He wasn’t going to give up, was he? Especially when more blood began to
pour out of his mouth.
“How do I get you out?” I glared. He knew how to get to me. If I could get revenge, if I
could change the past, I’d never end up like this, and those people could be dead.
“Don’t know. You’re on your own. I’ll help where I can.”
“You better.” I giggled. Just like that, my vision shattered just like before, and I sat up in
a freezing nurse’s office, where I fell asleep.
The sunshine streamed in, and I yawned. So it was real, I guess. Creepy. Wonder who
Koa is. He's like a snake. I might just call him Koabra. Hehe, I'm so funny. Like the snake? Get
it? Anyways, it was cold, and fairly early in the morning. I was alone, as far as I could tell. My
body was sore, and still hurt.
The door opened, and Nurse Bailey walked in, carrying a ton of paper in her arms. She
saw me sitting, and she frowned.
“Good morning. How’d you sleep? You passed out again.” She informed me, setting the
paper on her desk.
“I slept, I suppose.” I stood up, untangling my limbs from the sheets. Nurse Bailey
looked at me, shook.
“Sit back down, please, you’re not healed!” She exclaimed.
“Can’t. I have stuff to do.” I stretched, listening to my bones pop. I glanced around,
pausing to look at the mirror. Now taller, with a slender, stick-like form, waist length, boringbrown hair, loose around my shoulders. Fiery orange eyes, same as ever, and the school
uniform. A low cut white shirt, with a blue blazer and a tie, with leggings.
“You need to rest!” She said again, her hands full.
“Nope!” I called back, leaving the nurse’s room, fast enough so she’d never be able to
catch me. I made a bee-line down the hallway, to the library. I was determined to free this. And
my first someone, a certain someone needed to die if this world was going to survive. I knew she
was there, plotting, and I was going to get revenge for me and the others.
