We can't be friends/Lando Norris

Chapter 33 (the end)

~half a year later~

Ella Wolff was crowned F1 world Champion for the first time in 2024, with a record of pole positions and fastest laps.

Lando Norris was this seasons runner up, standing in the shadow of his girlfriend but still celebrating with her. She was his light.

Lando and Ella have been together for almost a year and a half, now living together.

They didn't know it yet but they're expecting a child.

After the winter break, Daniel Ricciardo will start his first race as a Mercedes driver, saving him from retirement.

Lando and I were standing in the same spot, where I wondered if he felt the same about having kids six months ago. And he did. Our house was finished, fully decorated and felt like a home.

Before I could turn around and ask him where we should put our 2024 trophies, he took my hand and guided me towards his car.

"We are we going?", I asked him with wide eyes.

"Date night. Unless you don't want to go on a date with your handsome boyfriend", he scowled.

"Of course I do!", I hit his shoulder playfully.

As soon as we entered the highway, I knew where he was taking us. There was a beautiful coast area near by where we often spend time together just because it was somewhere only we know.

I wasn't ready for what awaited me on the beach. A beautiful sunset, rose petals and a big blanket. It reminded me of our vacation a year ago. It took me five minutes to take in the sight infront of me.

"Do you like it?", Lando whispered into my ear from behind.

"I love it Lan"

"Close your eyes and turn around", he explained.

When I turned I heard shuffling in front of me.

"Open"

Once I opened my eyes, I saw lando kneeling beneath me with the most beautiful ring in his hands. My eyes filled with tears.

"Ella, you are my best friend, my best rival and the love of my life. I can not only race against you but laugh with you and cry with you. You gave life a whole new meaning and I'm hoping to share the rest of it with you. You are my greatest trophy and my greatest achievement.

You know how bad I am at big speeches, you know what makes me laugh and what makes me cry, you know my biggest flaws and insecurities and you still decided to stay. I am forever grateful for what you've done for me.

Ever since I first met you, your eyes never lost their sparkle. I even love how much they brighten when we're together. I love how you sing along too our favourite song and how you make me dance to them, even though you know I can't dance to save my life. I love you in this lifetime and I will love you in every other lifetime.

 I remember our first vacation together and how I promised you I am going to replace the ring I gave you with a proper wedding ring.

Ella Wolff, would you give me the honour and take me as your husband?"

I cupped his cheek with one hand.

"I do Lan, I do", I whispered and he placed the ring on my shaking hand.

"This is the start of something great you know, I didn't know what I would've done if you said no"

"In what world can I say no to you Lan", I laughed.

"You said no when I asked you to give me the championship", he shrugged.

"I hate you", I giggled.

"I love you"

"I love you too"

A/N: (please read) so this is the end of my first book and I want to say thank you so so much for the support from all off the readers. Also thank you for excusing the long waits and language errors all the time (I randomly started this fan fiction for fun and I never thought it would turn out this way. Everytime I feel like it, I'll ad Bonus Chapters/Oneshots/alternative endings to this book bc I feel like there is so much more I can write about. For now I also want to focus on my other story.
