The atmosphere in Tempest had never felt more relaxed, at least, for Rimuru. For the last few days, he had been thoroughly enjoying the confusion he was sowing among his fellow Demon Lords. By playing with his aura, fluctuating it unpredictably and layering it with different kinds of energy signatures, Rimuru had kept them on edge. Every time he sensed Guy Crimson, Milim, or Leon Cromwell trying to probe deeper, he withdrew his aura entirely, leaving them to wonder and speculate.
It was the perfect distraction while Rimuru made his final preparations for the eventual reveal of Shinsha.
Sitting at his desk, Rimuru grinned as he sensed another surge of interest coming from Milim's direction. She had been the most active, constantly trying to understand what her "bestie" was up to. Guy, on the other hand, had remained quieter, but Rimuru could feel his growing suspicion and curiosity.
"Milim's probably bursting with excitement by now," Rimuru chuckled to himself. "Poor girl must be thinking I've unlocked some secret new power."
[She will likely attempt to visit you soon, Master,] Ciel chimed in, her voice as calm and methodical as always. [Milim is not known for her patience.]
Rimuru nodded, already anticipating Milim's eventual arrival. "Yeah, I'm surprised she hasn't already crashed in here demanding answers."
As if on cue, the door to his office swung open, and Shuna entered with her usual grace, a calm smile on her face. "Rimuru-sama, there's a message for you."
Rimuru raised an eyebrow. "Oh? From whom?"
Shuna handed over a small orb, a magical communication device. "It's from Guy Crimson. He says it's urgent."
Rimuru took the orb, and as soon as he activated it, Guy's unmistakable voice filled the room, tinged with an edge of impatience.
"Rimuru, enough with your games. You're up to something, and it's time you spill the truth. I'm calling for a Walpurgis."
Rimuru's eyes widened slightly in surprise, though the grin never left his face. So, Guy finally had enough, huh?
Guy continued, his voice cold and calculating. "We've all felt the shifts in your aura, Milim, Leon, Velzard, and me. It's too erratic, too strange. Whatever you're hiding, it's big, and I won't allow you to keep it a secret any longer."
Rimuru leaned back in his chair, letting the orb hover above his palm. His grin only widened as he listened to Guy's commanding tone.
"Oh? A Walpurgis already?" Rimuru mused aloud, tapping his fingers on the armrest. "That was quicker than I expected."
[This was an inevitable outcome, Master,] Ciel said. [Your aura manipulations were bound to provoke a response from Guy. He is particularly sensitive to any disruptions in the balance of power.]
Rimuru couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, I guess I went a little overboard. But it's been fun messing with them."
He turned his attention back to the orb. "Alright, Guy. I'll be there. I assume it's the usual meeting place?"
"Yes," Guy replied, his tone firm. "I'll gather the others. Don't be late."
With that, the orb's glow dimmed as the connection ended. Rimuru sat in silence for a moment, contemplating the coming meeting. The time had come, Guy had taken the bait, and now the rest of the Demon Lords were being pulled into the game.
But this wasn't just a simple power play. This Walpurgis would be the perfect stage for his ultimate reveal. The game had been fun, but now it was time to unveil the truth.
"Looks like it's showtime," Rimuru muttered, standing up and stretching his arms. "Ciel, how are our final preparations for Shinsha coming along?"
[Everything is ready, Master,] Ciel replied. [Shinsha has fully adjusted to her powers, and the environment for her presentation is set. We've prepared the perfect conditions for her debut.]
Rimuru smiled. His daughter, hidden from the world for so long, was ready to step into the spotlight. After their time together in the sanctuary, she had developed into something truly extraordinary—strong, capable, and brimming with potential. But more than anything, she was still that same curious, innocent slime, eager to explore the world around her.
"Good," Rimuru said, glancing out the window at the peaceful landscape of Tempest. "It's time the world learned about Shinsha. Let's see how the Demon Lords react."
He could already imagine the chaos that would erupt once they realized the truth. For all their power and authority, the Demon Lords had no idea what was coming. Rimuru was ready to make his announcement, but first, he had to endure one last round of questioning from his peers.
The days leading up to the Walpurgis passed quickly. Rimuru kept his aura stable, no longer playing his chaotic game. Now that Guy had taken the bait, there was no need for further manipulation. The Demon Lords would be gathered soon enough, and Rimuru wanted them fully focused on what he had to say.
The day of the meeting arrived, and as Rimuru made his way to the Walpurgis gathering site, a grand, dark hall suspended between dimensions, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement. It had been a while since the last Walpurgis, and this one promised to be more interesting than most.
He arrived at the hall, greeted by the familiar dark atmosphere. Massive pillars stretched up into the black void above, and the grand circular table at the center of the room was already half-filled with the usual Demon Lord faces.
Guy Crimson sat at his usual spot, his piercing crimson eyes locking onto Rimuru the moment he appeared. Beside him sat Leon Cromwell, his expression unreadable but his golden eyes watching Rimuru closely. Milim, of course, was bouncing in her seat, her excitement barely contained. And Velzard, the Ice Empress, was there as well, her cold gaze silently observing everything.
"Rimuru!" Milim shouted, waving her arms wildly. "You're finally here! Tell us, tell us! What have you been up to?!"
Rimuru gave her a playful smile but didn't answer right away. He took his seat, glancing around the room as the other Demon Lords fixed their gazes on him.
Guy was the first to speak. "Rimuru, we're not here for games. We've all felt the shifts in your aura. What are you hiding?"
Leon leaned forward slightly, his voice calm but filled with authority. "You've been unusually quiet and secretive lately. It's unlike you. Explain yourself."
Even Velzard, usually distant, spoke up. "There's been a disturbance in the balance of power. You're the source of it, Rimuru."
Rimuru leaned back in his chair, meeting each of their gazes in turn. The tension in the room was palpable, but Rimuru remained relaxed, his smile never fading.
"Alright, alright," he said, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "I'll tell you. But you might want to brace yourselves for this one."
The Demon Lords waited in silence, their curiosity piqued. Rimuru could feel the anticipation building, and he reveled in it for a moment longer before finally speaking.
"I've been preparing for something big," Rimuru said, his tone shifting to a more serious one. "You've all sensed the changes in my aura because I've been making sure everything is perfect for a grand reveal."
Guy narrowed his eyes. "What kind of reveal?"
Rimuru's smile widened as he leaned forward, his voice low but clear. "I've created something... or rather, someone. Someone very special. Someone I'm finally ready to introduce to the world."
The room fell silent. The Demon Lords exchanged confused glances, unsure of what Rimuru was talking about. But before any of them could ask further questions, Rimuru stood up, his aura flaring ever so slightly, and said the words that would shake the very foundation of their world.
"Meet my daughter, Shinsha."
The air in the room grew thick with tension, and the Demon Lords stared at Rimuru in stunned silence.
And so, the game had finally begun.
