A Failed Attempt

Naomi was a girl long white hair and light grey eyes in a school uniform. Except the colours were the opposite of the regular ones you'd expect. She had a mole under her eye and wore a strained smile.

"Do you like crepes?" She asked the kids. "Ooh yes!! They're delicious!" Ururaka exclaimed. "Great because that's what we're getting" Naomi said blankly.

They didn't actually do a lot. They did get to see Naomi arrest someone but that was because they were a simp for any girl who looked above 14.

"Um, miss Naomi?" "Yeah?" Ojiro stopped momentarily to think. "Are there any libraries in Yokohama?" It was hard to tell, but the agency girl seemed to be glaring at him.

"We passed like, 2 on the way here. You should've told me you wanted to see some books before"  Naomi sighed as she stood up and gestured for the children to follow her.

The library was much larger than they thought it'd be for a villain-ruled city.

"Wow! I thought there'd be more weapon shops or something here because Yokohama's run by villains" Sero said and Ojiro quickly shut his mouth.

Naomi clenched her fists though it went unnoticed to the outsiders. Anyone else who walked by could easily pick up on the irritation seeping from the girl, she was the sister of one of the well known detectives of the agency, afterall.

They walked inside and were greeted by an old lady with a warm smile. "Hello Naomi dear" the girl's frown and annoyed stare immediately disappeared apon seeing the woman.

"Little Miss Mayada! You work at the library now?" Naomi happily asked, acting liking a different person. "I do indeed. Who are these folks with you?"
"The blue haired is Iida, brunette's Ururaka, black haired is Sero and Ojiro's the blonde. D-Don't mind the tail"

"Are you all getting books?" Miss Mayada asked as she approached the group, Naomi helping to keep her steady. Her cane was a bit chipped and unstable at the bottom, the agency'd have to get her a new one.

"Just these kids" Naomi settled with after some pondering. Kunikida already bought enough books to last a decade. It was ridiculous really.

"Hmm...well if they're into stories about angered human to animal transitions. I'd like to suggest 'The Moon Over The Mountain' by an unknown author. That's just a basic summary if you can even call it that I've heard. I never read it myself you see" (I wanted to mention it but I never fucking read it cause I'm broke as shit!! And I can't find anywhere to read it online for free and it isn't in any of my libraries!!)

"Um...no thanks. Do you have any on...uh...world..creation..? Fictional of course! I uh...really like those kind of stories?" Ururaka shrugged, a nervous smiled on her round face.

Miss Mayada raised an eyebrow at the girl and Naomi internally flipped her off. "Not even trying to be discreet huh?"

Naomi naturally ended up rolling her eyes at the girl's attempt at a cover up.

"Just give her a random book. Maybe 'Praise Of The Shadows' or something, I don't know" Naomi whispered to Miss Mayada who smiled faintly.

Naomi was honestly confused on why they thought the reality altering book would be in a regular library.
