Him - A Nicholas Chavez Story

Chapter 1 - New Beginnings

Bella had just got the call that she was cast in the new romantic comedy Him. She was stoked because she was working with her OBX co-star Drew Starkey. They had become close friends over the years and even sparked dating rumors. However, Drew is in a happy relationship whereas Bella is perfectly content living the single life. The director emailed her saying that she needs to get to know her new co-star Nicholas Chavez because the pair are to play opposite each other. Their characters will ultimately fall in love and because of this, the director felt that they need chemistry. Nicholas Chavez was in the second installment of Monsters on Netflix. Bella is deep into the world of true crime so she had seen the show right when it came out. She thought that Nicholas did a fantastic job and found him to be a very talented actor. Because of this, she is very excited to get to know him more. The director left his agents contact information in hopes they would touch base soon. After texting the number to her agent, Bella decided to call Drew and tell him the good news.

Hanging up the phone, Bella went to grab lunch with her best friend Jenna. Her and Jenna have been best friends since they met at the red carpet event for her movie X. Bella was an admirer of Jenna's work and talent which is why she introduced herself. Ever since they hung out at the afterparty, they have been inseparable. Her driver arrived and Bella was off to lunch. Finally arriving, she is greeted by Jenna and the pair make their way inside. They decided to go to The Beachwood Cafe which happens to be their favorite spot.

"Ok I have something to tell you!" Bella said with excitement.

Jenna looked at her with eager eyes.

"I got the part! I'm going to be playing Esme Park in the new romcom Him!"

Jenna sprung her arms up in joy and gave her best friend a hug.

"Bella that's amazing! I'm so happy for you! Do you know who any of your co-stars are?"

"Yes, actually! Drew is one of them, he's playing my boyfriend turned ex. My main co-star though is Nicholas Chavez, you remember him from that new Monsters show right?"

Jenna nodded remembering when Bella made her binge it in one setting in the release night.

"Well him and then I was told Kathryn Hahn and Michael Sheen are playing my parents!"

"You've always wanted to meet Michael! This is gonna be so fun for you Bels"

Jenna smiled at her friend knowing this was going to be an interesting filming experience and couldn't wait to hear all the gossip.

When they finished lunch, the girls hugged goodbye and went their separate ways. Bella noticed a missed call from her agent so she decided to call her back.

Bella:

Hi! So sorry I missed your call, I was at lunch with Jenna. What's up?

Agent:

No worries! So great news, I got in contact with Nicholas' agent and we set up a time for next Wednesday at 1pm for you guys to meet. We decided to let you two plan where you want to go/do so I will text you his personal number.

Bella:

Thank you so much Christine! I can't wait to meet him!

Christine:

Of course! Keep me updated on what you decide to do! I'll talk to you later

Bella:

Of course! I'll talk you later, bye!

End phone call

Putting Nicholas' number in her contacts, Bella decided to text him and make arrangements for next week.

New Message to : Potentially Nicholas Chavez

Bella:

Hello! This is Bella Tallard, I got your number from your agent. Hopefully this is Nicholas Chavez and not someone else lol. Stoked to meet you next week!

Bella set down her phone and began putting her laundry away and tidying up her room. She was listening to Zach Top when she heard her phone vibrate on her desk. She opened it to see a new message from that unknown number.

Potentially Nicholas Chavez:

Hi Bella, I'm looking forward to meeting you too. My agent said it's up to us to figure out what we do on Wednesday, any ideas? This is Nicholas btw :)

Bella smiled at the text, especially the end. She could tell that this was going to be a very fun task and hoped they could become great friends.

New message to : Really Nicholas Chavez

Bella:

Good to know I have the right number! I was thinking that we could grab coffee, maybe take a walk if we feel up to it, and then I know a good ice cream shop if we fancy that

Really Nicholas Chavez:

That sounds wonderful! Not sure where you are in relation to it but I love the Beachwood Cafe if you would want to grab coffee there? And I am always up for ice cream :)

Bella gasped and put her hand on her mouth. He loves the Beachwood Cafe too?!? This was already starting out perfect.

Bella:

Beachwood Cafe is my absolute favorite! It's about a ten minute drive for me so that works perfect. Are you excited to start filming?

Really Nicholas Chavez:

Awesome! Yes, I'm very excited. Doing a romcom sounds so fun to do. The cast looks pretty good too. How about you?

Bella:

I couldn't agree more! I'm so stoked. I've always wanted to meet Michael Sheen lol

Really Nicholas Chavez:

Oh he's great. Seems like a very funny guy.

Bella:

Yeah! Well, I have to get back to cleaning but let's stay in touch before Wednesday!

Really Nicholas Chavez:

OK, have fun with cleaning :) I'll talk to you later Bella

Setting down her phone, Bella continued cleaning then made her favorite dinner and decided to watch Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story for research purposes of course.
