Chapter 8 - The Waitress

"What the fu-"

"Baby, Bella, this is NOT what it looks like" Nic yelled out, cutting her off.

He came to the door wearing just his sweatpants and his hair a mess.

"What the hell is she doing here?"

"Who are you?" The waitress asked, zipping up her jacket.

"I'm his girlfriend, who the hell are you?" Bella was fuming, crossing her arms and avoiding eye contact with her boyfriend.

"She's leaving" Nic spoke up, shoving the girl out of his trailer. He pulled Bella in and slammed the door.

Bella opened the door back up, walked down the stairs, and punched the waitress in the face.

"Ow, what the hell you crazy bitch" The waitress held her cheek, tears forming in her eyes.

"Stay away from MY boyfriend you hear? I don't care if you have history, he is MINE. If I ever see your face again it's gonna look a hell of a lot worse than it will tomorrow"

Bella stormed off to her trailer, Nic following close behind.

"Bella! Bella stop" He tried to grab her arm but she slapped it away.

"DO. NOT. Touch me" Her eyes were red, holding back the tears.

"I can't believe you right now. You know it's funny I was just coming to tell you that I love you back. What a joke that is" She scoffs, rubbing her nose on her sleeve.

"B, I can explain. Please" Nic tried to grab her arms but Bella took a step back.

Her tears were streaming but she stayed silent. Nic's eyes were getting glossy as the tears streamed from his face too.

"I do love you, I wasn't lying"

"It feels like you were"

They stood in silence not knowing what to say. As if on cue, Kathryn came around the corner, curious to find the source of the noise she heard earlier.

"Hey guys, what's going on here" She came up and gave Bella a hug, blocking her from Nic's view.

As Kathryn wrapped her arms around the trembling girl, Nic tried to explain the situation.

"She came to my trailer and-I had someone in there that I shouldn't have"

"I think you need to go, Nicholas. Go back to your trailer ok? I'll take care of her, I promise"

Nic hesitated for a moment before turning around and walking back to his trailer.

"Shh, it's ok sweetie. I'm going to take you to my trailer ok? I'll get Drew too" Kathryn stroked Bella's hair trying her best to calm her down.

They made their way to Kathryn's trailer where she sat Bella down at the foot of the bed and put the kettle on for some tea.

"I'm going to get Drew ok hon? I will be right back, just hang tight"

Bella nodded in response. She was in shock. After everything that happened, it made sense to her now why Nic was so defensive that morning. She felt stupid for thinking she overreacted. How could he do that? After saying he loved her? Was it all a distraction?

The trailer door opened and Drew immediately rushed over to his best friend. Without a word, he sat next to her and engulfed her in a hug. She began sobbing, holding nothing back this time. On the way, Kathryn had explained the situation so that Drew knew what he was walking into. After what felt like hours, Bella finally composed herself.

"Here Bels, Kathryn made you some tea" Drew handed her the mug, sitting back down next to her.

"Thanks D and thank you for making this Kathryn" Bella attempted to smile but it quickly faded away.
