You stumble through the corridor, the shadows clinging to you like a shroud. Your heart races as you retrace your steps toward the iron door, the echoes of Malakar's laughter ringing in your ears. Each step feels heavier, the weight of his words pressing down upon you. Power. Revenge. Choices.

"Get a grip," you mutter to yourself, shaking your head to clear the fog of confusion. "You're stronger than this."

As you reach the door, it swings open with a creak that reverberates through the stone, revealing the flickering firelight of the chamber beyond. You step inside, the warmth wrapping around you like a blanket. The grotesque carvings seem less threatening in the light, but you know the truth lies beneath their surface—darkness and despair.

"Is anyone there?" you call out again, hoping for a response, a sign that you're not as alone as you feel.

A figure emerges from the shadows at the far side of the room—a woman with flowing silver hair and piercing blue eyes. She wears a flowing gown that shimmers like starlight, and as she approaches, a sense of calm washes over you.

"I was wondering when you would return," she says, her voice melodic, yet firm. "I am Selene, guardian of the Abyss. You have much to ponder, child."

"Guardian?" you echo, the word tasting foreign on your tongue. "What do you want with me?"

"To guide you," she replies, her gaze unwavering. "You have been touched by darkness, yet there is light within you. You must choose your path wisely."

"Choose?" you scoff, frustration bubbling to the surface. "What choice do I have? I'm trapped in this nightmare!"

Selene steps closer, her presence soothing. "You are not trapped, but presented with a crossroads. The path of power, or the path of light. It is up to you to decide."

You cross your arms, feeling the heat of anger rise. "And what if I don't want either? What if I just want to go home?"

"Home is no longer what it was," she replies gently. "The fire has taken that from you. But you can forge a new path, one where you can protect those you love."

"Protect? By using the same power that destroyed my life?" you challenge, your voice rising. "That doesn't make any sense!"

"It may not make sense now, but you will understand in time," Selene insists. "To fight against the darkness that threatens to consume your world, you must first embrace your own strength."

You pace the room, feeling the weight of her words. "What if I fail? What if I become like him?" The image of Malakar flashes in your mind, his dark presence looming over you. "What if I become a monster?"

"Then you will have the opportunity to confront that monster and make a different choice," she says, her voice steady. "But you must be willing to confront your fears. Power is not inherently evil; it is how one chooses to wield it that defines its nature."

You stop, turning to face her. "And what about love? What about the people I lost? Can power bring them back?"

Selene's eyes soften. "Love is a powerful force, one that can guide and protect. It can also lead to vengeance if you let it. But do not forget—your connection to them remains. They live on in your heart. Honor their memory, and let it be your strength."

You take a deep breath, the conflicting emotions swirling within you. "I don't know if I can do this."

"Then you must seek knowledge," Selene urges. "You need allies. There are others who have walked this path, just as you are now. Seek them out, and you will find your way."
