In the heart of Mallipuram, a village steeped in tradition and spirituality, the Navratri festival was the most revered time of the year. For nine nights, the village came alive with devotion to Goddess Durga, the fierce protector of good over evil. While the festival was celebrated by all, there were secret rituals that only the women and girls of the village were allowed to perform. These rituals, passed down through generations, were said to invoke the goddess's blessings, ensuring protection and prosperity for the village. Men were strictly forbidden from participating or even witnessing the rituals. To break this sacred rule was to invoke the goddess’s wrath—an offense that carried mysterious and severe consequences.
