Yuki had always been protective of Hana, and after learning about the horrible ordeal she had gone through, he made a silent promise to himself: he would make sure the man who hurt her paid for his actions. But he also knew that Hana wasn't ready to confront her past yet. She was still healing, and Yuki didn't want to burden her with the knowledge of the legal battle he was quietly pursuing.
Without Hana's knowledge, Yuki had been in and out of meetings with lawyers and police, providing statements and gathering evidence to build a case against the man who had nearly destroyed Hana's life. It wasn't easy—this man was powerful, with connections that ran deep. But Yuki was determined. No matter how difficult or dangerous it became, he wouldn't let this man get away with what he had done.
One evening, Yuki was on his way back from the police station after giving yet another statement. He was tired, both physically and emotionally, but he knew he had to keep pushing forward. His thoughts were consumed with the case when, suddenly, a group of men appeared out of nowhere, blocking his path.
Before Yuki could react, they attacked. Fists flew, hitting him hard in the face, the stomach, his ribs. The blows came fast, and Yuki struggled to defend himself, but he was outnumbered. The men were merciless, beating him until he could barely stand.
Yuki lay on the ground, his body throbbing with pain, his face swollen and bruised. He knew exactly why this had happened—it was a warning. A warning to stop pursuing the case against the powerful man who had hurt Hana. But even as his body ached and his vision blurred, Yuki's resolve hardened. He wasn't going to stop. He couldn't.
After what felt like an eternity, the men finally left him there, beaten and bloodied. Yuki struggled to his feet, pain coursing through every part of his body. His first instinct was to go somewhere else, to avoid worrying Hana. But he couldn't leave her alone. He needed to be with her, even if it meant risking her seeing him like this.
Slowly, painfully, Yuki made his way back to Hana's apartment. By the time he arrived, his face was a mess of bruises, his movements stiff from the pain. He tried to collect himself before entering, but there was no hiding the extent of his injuries.
Hana was in the kitchen when he walked through the door. The moment she saw him, her heart stopped.
"Yuki!" she gasped, rushing over to him, her eyes wide with shock. "What happened? Who did this to you?"
Yuki winced, trying to play it off. "I... slipped," he said, forcing a weak smile. "It's nothing, really."
But Hana wasn't fooled. She was too smart, and she knew Yuki far too well to believe such an obvious lie. Her eyes narrowed, her voice firm. "Yuki, don't lie to me. What really happened?"
Yuki looked away, his heart sinking. He didn't want to tell her, didn't want to burden her with more than she was already dealing with. But the look in her eyes told him that she wouldn't let this go. She deserved the truth.
Taking a deep breath, Yuki sat down on the couch, wincing as he did. "It's... about the case," he admitted quietly. "I've been pressing charges against the man who hurt you. I've been working with the police, building a case. But... he's powerful, Hana. He has people working for him, and tonight, they sent me a message."
Hana's eyes widened in disbelief, and then they filled with anger. "You've been doing all this without telling me? Yuki, you didn't have to—"
"I didn't want to make you relive it," Yuki interrupted gently. "You've already been through enough. I didn't want to add more to your plate."
Hana's heart ached as she looked at Yuki, beaten and bruised, all because he was trying to protect her. She couldn't believe he had been carrying this burden on his own, putting himself in harm's way for her. But more than that, she couldn't stand the thought of him getting hurt because of something from her past.
"I can't let him hurt you," Hana whispered, her voice shaking. "He already hurt me once... but I won't let him hurt you too."
Yuki shook his head, reaching for her hand. "It's not your fault, Hana. This is on him, and he needs to be held accountable. I just didn't want to pressure you into facing him before you were ready."
Hana looked at Yuki, her emotions swirling inside her. She was tired of being afraid. Tired of hiding from the shadows of her past. And now, seeing what this had cost Yuki, she realized she couldn't run from it any longer.
"I'm ready," Hana said firmly, her voice filled with newfound determination. "I can't keep letting him control my life. He's done enough damage, and if he thinks he can scare us into backing down, he's wrong."
Yuki looked at her, surprised by the strength in her voice. "Are you sure? This won't be easy, Hana. It'll mean facing him, reliving what happened..."
"I know," Hana said, her eyes fierce. "But I won't let him win. Not anymore. He already took so much from me, but I'm not going to let him take anything else. And I won't let him hurt you again."
Yuki's heart swelled with pride and love as he looked at her. Despite everything she had been through, despite all the fear and pain, she was standing tall, ready to face the man who had tried to break her.
Together, they made the decision to go public with their case, to bring the man to justice, no matter how powerful he was. Hana knew it would be difficult—she knew the road ahead would be filled with challenges. But with Yuki by her side, she felt stronger than ever before.
The next day, they filed the necessary papers to press charges, and Hana took the brave step of facing her abuser. The man might have been powerful, but he had no idea just how strong Hana had become. She wasn't just fighting for herself anymore—she was fighting for Yuki, for their future, and for the justice she deserved.
