Imransolar stood at the front of the large, brightly lit screen, a smile playing on his face as the virtual Pokéballs floated beside him. He cleared his throat, then began with the iconic line, "Welcome to the world of Pokémon!"
His voice carried a warm, welcoming tone, but there was something different about his usual speech this time. He continued, "Here, in this vast world, you'll discover creatures of incredible strength and heart—Pokémon, who form bonds with trainers like no other. Adventures await, challenges will arise, and friendships will grow in ways you never imagined."
He paused, scanning the room with a playful smile before adding, "But this time, I won't ask you for anything. No need to choose or declare anything, no questions about your gender or your background. All I ask is one thing: sit back, relax, and enjoy the story as it unfolds before you. Whether you're a seasoned trainer or just starting your journey, this world is yours to explore."
With a nod, Imransolar finished, "Let's begin the adventure."
I step down from the ferry, the cool breeze from the sea brushing against my face. Around me, excited chatter fills the air as my supposed future classmates — and maybe even friends — buzz with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, I can barely muster the energy to care. I sigh, gripping the handle of my luggage, and begin to drag it toward the imposing academy building in the distance.
How did this happen? One minute, I was planning to quietly escape, to leave behind the madness of Pokémon battles and "adventures." The next, my mom was talking about job opportunities, as if this academy would somehow lead to the life I actually want.
Mom. why did you sign your son to some random academy in a remote island. If you want to have a lovely dovely moment with dad, just lend me money to rent some hotel.
At least give me a little sister that I can spoiled later.
I glance around at the eager faces and let out another sigh. All I wanted was a normal job, college, and maybe a quiet life. But now, I'm here — on this island academy, surrounded by people with dreams that aren't mine.
How did this happen?
I walk slowly, taking my time as the guide starts gathering all the other first-year students who just stepped off the same ferry. My eyes drift over the crowd, and I notice the variety of Pokémon around me — all types, shapes, and sizes. Some students already have their own partners by their side, chatting and bonding like they've been at this for years.
