The Slytherin common room was quiet as I descended the stairs from my dorm. There was a fire burning in the fireplace like always, its light casting shadows on the rest of the room. The light from the fire highlighted the face of the only person in the common room other than me, Draco Malfoy. We are in one friend group but we always kind of hated each other. I don't know how my friends keep up with his bullshit.
Draco looked up at the sound of the door opening, and a slight smirk crossed his face when he saw me. He put down the book he was reading and leaned back in his chair. His eyes trailed over me for a moment. I got the feeling he's sizing me up, like he was debating with himself.
I gave him a quick annoyed look as I continued to walk away.
Draco's smirk quickly turned into a frown as i passed him without even acknowledging him. He was not used to being ignored. He's a prideful prick who only cares about his reputation with the girls. Yes. His sex life is very popular topic around the girls here and I freaking hate it.
He stood up from his chair and started walking after me, his footsteps following behind me.
I quickly turned around facing him. "You want something?" I said confused.
Draco stopped when i turned around to look at him, and he gave me a haughty smile. He was surprised that I was asking so simply, without a hint of fear.
He raised an eyebrow as if to say "What do you think?"
"Of course I want something," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I wouldn't have followed you otherwise."
"Be quick." I said.
Draco rolled his eyes at my response, as if he thought it was obvious. He stepped closer to me. He was trying to intimidate me but I refused to be intimidated by such a bitch.
He looked down at me. "Your attention obviously." he said, his face full of sarcasm.
I knew exactly what he doing. He is trying to make fun of me.
Draco and my brother are very close mates. Theo had so much serious fights and talks with Draco about this situation but nothing helped and I'm getting really tired of it.
Actually most of the students are afraid of me. Just not him. I don't blame them though. I'm mean, cold, heartless and I'm not ashamed by it. Since our parents left us all alone with our aunt I gave up on everything good in my life. Lots of dark wizards tried to take our lifes because of our powerful pureblood family. I have a lot of blood on my hands. And I would do it again for me and him. Theo on the other hand is the sweetest person on earth. He will hesitate to kill a bee.
"Can you get away from my pretty face?" I said low with a hint of sarcasm in my voice.
"You think I'm afraid of you, Victoria?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous. "Just because you come from a powerful family, you think I'll cower before you?"
Actually I really thought so.
Draco's cold. He's taking care of himself all alone. He's the meanest person I know and he will make every person who's in his way suffer. He is a popular student, surrounded by friends who follows his every word like he is a king. He has a different girl on his arm every week, and seems to have a certain charm that drew girls to him.
He was not someone to be underestimated and everyone knew it.
I looked at him with annoyance. "I don't give a fuck what you think, do you know that?"
Draco didn't respond immediately, his gaze still locked on me. He was clearly thinking over my words and trying to figure out how to respond.
After a moment he spoke again. "You're never as intimidated by me as I would like you to be. Why's that?" He said, his voice slightly cautious.
I laughed at his response "Why would I be? I'm not scared of anything or anyone, Malfoy."
His eyes darkened slightly at my laughter.
"Everyone is afraid of something," he said, his voice cold and low. "No one's fearless."
I rolled my eyes at him annoyed at his presence. "Anyways, don't you have another whore to fuck?"
What the- I definitely didn't mean to say that. The words just slipped out of my mouth.
Draco's eyes flashed with anger at my insinuation.
"Excuse me?" he said, his voice sharp. "What did you just say?"
"Having ear problems?" I said trying to provoke him.
Draco clenched his jaw tightly, trying to contain his anger.
"I heard you loud and clear," he said, his voice cold. "And I don't appreciate the implication. I'm not a 'whore' as you so kindly put it."
"You know what? I don't give a single damn. And if you excuse me I want to go to my dorm without you ruining my night. Have a good night." I said finally without a hesitation.
Draco watched as I walked away, his expression unreadable. He was clearly not used to being dismissed like that, especially by a girl. He was used to girls falling over themselves to get his attention. All these years he never saw a single glimpse of attention by me and it was pulling him.
He stood there for a moment, watching me disappear up the stairs.
