Luca took me to a mansion on the outskirts of the city. It was like nothing I had ever seen—huge gates, sprawling gardens, and more rooms than I could count. I didn't understand what was happening. Why would someone like him care about someone like me?
That's when he dropped the bombshell.
"You're not who you think you are," Luca said, pouring himself a drink. "You're my sister. Our father is Giovanni Moretti, the most powerful man in the city—and you're his daughter."
I blinked, trying to process the information. "That's impossible. I've been in the foster system my whole life. No one ever wanted me."
Luca's face softened, just for a moment. "Our father didn't know about you. Our mother hid you away to protect you. She didn't want this life for you—the mafia life. But now that you're in danger, we had no choice but to bring you back."
