"Oi! Isaac! wake up dumbass, You haven't even eaten dinner!" A soft, meek voice sounded from beside him. He slowly woke up. "Kathy?" He asked half asleep. "Yes! it's Kathy who the hell else now wake the hell up sleepyhead!" The girl shouted again. Kathryne, the landlord's maid. A young girl in her late 20s about the same age as Isaac with a pale, slender figure and brown hair and eyes as dark as the night sky and a sparkle like the north star. She wore decent clothing for a maid and held a metal tray with a cup of tea and a plate with some bread. Her sparrow like voice, soft yet commanding. Her hair was tied to a messy bun. Isaac slowly sat up "I don't think I can eat tonight." "What? you ill or something?" Kathryne felt Isaac's forehead. "Oh please you're being a drama queen now eat up." She set the tray on a small table close to Isaac's sofa and sat down beside him. "In all seriousness though, what's wrong?" Isaac didn't answer, He just stared across the room at the very uninteresting wall that had loose bricks here and there.

"I swear I can never understand how men work." sighed Kathryne. "Isaac stood up with a groan and took his cup of tea and took a sip. "Really? not even a thank you?" Kathryne made a sly remark. Isaac forced a smile "Thank you, Kathy!" He kept on sipping his tea. "So when are you going to do something with yourself, hmm Isaac?" To which he replied with silence. "You can't afford rent or college anymore, Your family hasn't reached out to you and neither have you for god knows how long, the landlord wants to take legal actions to kick you out and who knows what's next?" Isaac kept staring at the wall across the room. Kathryne sighed "Look, I know it's tough, no one's having it easy these days. Prices are off the charts, crime rates have spiked, unemployment rates too but you can't just sit there and accept it all now can you?" Kathryne asked thoughtfully to which Isaac replied, "Kathy, what is the point of doing anything if we'll just die?" Kathryne punched Isaac hard on his arm "There you go with your stupid ideas again. Do something for the sake of the others around you, not just yourself dummy." The two sat in silence for a moment. Kathryne started "You will get some rest and go out first thing in the morning tomorrow, am I understood?" She asked sternly to which Isaac nodded

"I got to go back to Mr. Hercule now. I'll take the trays back later and they better be clean." With that Kathryne left the apartment leaving Isaac alone with his thoughts. The feeling of self hatred was overwhelming. It got to the point where he felt that nothing he does really matters in the world anymore. He felt nothing but hate for everything. The money lender, the landlord, Austin (his associate that recommended the money lender), His college, his family and most of all himself. He ate his bountiful bread and threw himself onto the bed. He twisted and turned but couldn't sleep. He reached out to his bag which was lying on the floor and took out a bottle of pills and took three of them and in a moment he was sound asleep.
