Dakotas POV❤️

The show ends and I squint my eyes to adjust to the theater lights. "So what did you think?" She asks smiling looking at me.

My breath hitches and my mind goes blank because I don't really remember anything that happened while I was admiring her. "Amazing. I'm glad I got to experience it with you. Haven't you seen it before, you seemed as in awe as I was?" I say smiling remembering her reactions.

She laughs. "I've seen it once with Jasmine. But she's like Jamie, only went because I wanted to go." She says and I nod.

"Well thank you Raven. This was nice." I say and a thought comes to me. "It's 5, want to catch some dinner?" I ask as we make it back to the car. I see her tense up but immediately relax as if to play it off. "Everything ok?" I ask.

She smiles but it doesn't reach her eyes. "Uh yeah. I just wasn't expecting that. Um yeah I would like dinner." I nod and smile and open the door for her.

"Do you like steak?" She nods. "Good." I say and drive us to the restaurant. I sense her fidgeting and look and see her bouncing her leg. "Are you ok Raven?" I ask again.

She flinches at my sudden voice. "Yeah I'm fine. Just excited I guess." She says her voice shaky. I nod.

We pull up and I open the door for her and hand the keys to the valet. "Table for two please." I say to the woman. She leads us to a table and Raven takes the seat in front of me. She looks around at all the people in formal attire. I smile watching her. "Hey," she looks at me, "you look beautiful don't worry. I'm more out of dress code if anything. Just enjoy yourself." I say and she smiles sweetly.

"This place is beautiful Dakota. And you say you aren't rich?" She jokes.

I laugh. "I never said I didn't have money." I smirk winking and I see her shy away. The waiter takes our orders and she orders a glass of wine. "Damn am I that boring, you have to get drunk?" I say fake offended.

She laughs and it is so smooth like her voice. "No Dakota. You very much have my attention." She says as she looks at me while she sips her glass. I swallow at the intensity of her stare and fold by looking passed her to the table behind her. I hear her chuckle. "Is eye contact too much for you?" She asks.

I nod. "Yes it is. It's like you're looking into my soul or something. Trying to find something you can't see on the surface. It's intimidating to say the least." I answer truthfully and she nods.

"Well, maybe I am." She shrugs and I was going to say something but the food came before I could. "Thank you." She says to the waiters and they leave.

I watch as she eats her steak and I eat mine. "What do you do Raven?" I ask remembering I never asked.

She swallows her food and smiles. "I'm a principal at the school you and Jamie used to go to school at." She says and I look shocked. I didn't know that.

"And how's that ?" I ask and she laughs.

"Has its up and downs but atleast I get my summers off and every major holiday. So it's no problem." She says and sips more wine. I nod. She looks at me for a while not saying anything. "Why are you single Dakota?"

She asks and I nearly choke my mash potatoes. "Uh I'm not sure. I guess I haven't found the 'one'." I shrug drinking my water.

She nods. "What about Mikayla, she seems nice?"

I laugh. "That wouldn't work out very well." She tilts her and I continue. "I have what some call the need for physical intimacy when it comes to a partner and she does not. She'd rather prefer not to." I say.

She nods. "So you like to have sex and she's asexual." She clarifies and I nod. I hear her take a deep breath. "Hm well that wouldn't work very well. I don't know if I would have married Jamie if he couldn't 'preform'." She says and I laugh.

"Uh I'd rather not know about Jamie and you preforming." We both laugh and continue the dinner with conversation and getting to know each other. "Thank you for joining me for dinner Raven and for the theater." I say as we wait for the valet to bring my car.

She smiles. "Of course I had an amazing time. It gets me excited for Saturday." She says and I kept help but think the same except knowing Jamie will be there instead of it just being her and I.

The car pulls up and we get in. "Am I dropping you off at you guys place?" I ask and she nods. Throughout the drive we sing karaoke to every song that plays on the radio. We pull up to their house and it's a nice two story outside of the city. "Damn Jamie is on the come up." I say. Jamie and I didn't exactly live in the greatest neighborhood in New York. I'm glad we both made it out.

I walk her to the door. "Thanks for tonight Dakota. It was really nice." I nod and smile.

This felt like a date. Was it? No it can't be. But she looks so beautiful. Kiss her. What? My mind goes crazy thinking about what to say but those thoughts go away quick when the door opens revealing Jamie, my bestfriend, who is married to Raven. "Raven what are you doing out here?" He asks and she points to me and his eyes meet mine and he smiles. "Koda? She's been with you all day?"

I nod a little confused. "Uh yeah she said she got the address from you and then had Jasmine bring her over to my place." I say taking a small quick glances over at Raven.

He turns to her and smiles. "Oh baby you just couldn't wait to see her on Saturday?" He says and she shakes her head. I watch the interaction carefully but don't think too much on it.

"Well I'm going to go. I need atleast 8 more hours of sleep to become a functioning human being." I joke and they laugh. Good because fuck this weird tension. "Catch you later man and see you later, Raven." She makes eye contact with me and smiles.

I get back to my car and watch them go inside. I sit there for a minute trying to think about the interaction and why it's bothering me so much. I shake it off when Mikayla texts me saying someone is here to see me at the condo. Why the hell do so many people have my damn address?!
