It's been a day or two since Russia.

Morgan hasn't been found anywhere. Was Butcher worried? No, she needed a break — he'd let her have a break. Frenchie has been quiet, Kimiko was in the hospital, Hughie had been dealing with Starlight and the reveal that Soldier Boy was out and about.

When Morgan got home the first thing she did was catch up with her parents. They had a lot of fucking explaining to do.

"Soldier Boy? That's a name I haven't heard in a while. Why are you asking about him?" her dad asked, handing her a cup of hot Earl Grey tea. Meanwhile, her mother was pouring herself a glass of red whine, something to cut off the edge for her. Morgan focused on her mother, furrowing her eyebrows as she took a sip.

"Because he's still fucking alive," Morgan said and her mother choked on her own wine, "got anything to tell me?" Morgan asked, eyebrow raised as she watched her mother chug down one glass.

"How do you know about Soldier Boy?" Morgan's mother asked, eyebrow raised.

"I'd say history class, which I'm not lying... we did learn about him in school," Morgan explained as she stood up to get something out of her backpack. Her father had no clue about what his kid has been up too lately — how she had went from helping Hughie get revenge for Robin, to doing freelance work with a man named Butcher, to this shit. She pulls out a file folder decked out to match Vought's aesthetic and her mother tensed. "Got some explaining to do?" Morgan asked, placing the folder in front of her mother.

"Where did you get that?"

"Russia."

Her father nearly did a spit take. "When the hell did you go to Russia?"

"About a day or two ago, jet lag is a hell of a drug." Morgan leaned against the kitchen wall, arms folded over each other. "Is it true?"

"What?" Morgan's mother is still playing stupid. She signed an NDA after all.

"For fucks sake, mom, am I related to him?"

Her mom didn't answer her but her dad did and that's all she needed to know.

She needed air. Really, she needed a bullet to her head but no-one would do it for her and she was too lazy to do it herself.

"Fuuuuuuck."

What should she do? Go back to the office? Tell everyone the truth? Sounded lame. Sounded boring. She could just play it off as some sort of sick joke? Some surprise?

Couldn't be a surprise though. If Frenchie and Kimiko knew, and if Hughie knew — no doubt that MM and Butcher would know in the future.

She paces back and forth in front of her house, when neighbors started looking at her with a raised eyebrow she decided to just bite the bullet and go back to the office.

Especially when she gets a text from Hughie.

Hughie - We need to talk.

Okay that's never good. She wasn't even in a relationship with Hughie and those talks never ended well.

She gets another text from Butcher. Okay. That's a message she needs to worry about. They weren't even really together, what they had was on and off and nothing serious but when they were together... Morgan looks at it and sighs.

Butcher - Get over here now.

Sounded like an angry parent demanding their child to get back home. Fair. She goes MIA after she comes back from Russia with the rest of the group? Maybe he was worried.

Or maybe he knew already and wanted to have a word.

Morgan knew she should have had just stayed home from work the unfortunate day she met Billy Butcher.
