As the morning sun gently filtered through the sheer curtains of my room, I stirred from my slumber, feeling the soft embrace of the bed slowly releasing its hold on me.
A gentle knock on the door followed by the voice of a palace servant pulled me further from my sleep state.
"Lady Y/n, forgive the intrusion, but it's time to wake up. You need to get ready for your wedding." the servant announced, her voice carrying a sense of urgency tempered with respect.
I blinked sleepily, my mind still caught between the fading haze of sleep and the reality of the day ahead. With a slow stretch and a tired yawn, I reluctantly pushed the covers aside, allowing my bare feet to meet the cool marble floor as I rose from my bed.
"Already? What time did you all wake up to have everything ready?" I mused softly, a hint of wonder coloring my words as I followed the servant to another room nearby, bustling with preparations.
Upon entering, I found myself surrounded by a team of people, each one meticulously attending to their respective tasks.
I gave a sleepy smile to the servant who had roused me from my sleep before obediently taking my seat, allowing myself to be swept into the whirlwind of preparations.
Gentle hands brushed against my skin as makeup was applied with deft precision, accentuating my features without overshadowing my natural beauty.
I closed my eyes, allowing myself to relax into the sensation. When I opened my eyes once more, I was met with my reflection in the mirror, a vision of elegance staring back at me.
My hair, adorned with delicate braids, framed my face in a cascade of waves, adding a touch of whimsy to my appearance.
Turning my attention to the dress that awaited me, I couldn't help but marvel at its beauty. The fabric hugged my curves in all the right places, the intricate design a testament to the skill of the artisans who had crafted it. With each movement, it flowed around me, a symphony of silk and lace.
As the final touches were made, a veil was delicately placed upon my head, its golden crown adorned with flowers adding a regal air to my ensemble.
I turned to face the servants who had worked tirelessly to prepare me for this moment, a sense of gratitude swelling within my heart.
"You've all done an amazing job. Thank you very much." I murmured softly, my voice carrying a warmth that echoed my appreciation.
The servants smiled in return, their eyes alight with pride as they beheld your breathtaking appearance.
"You look absolutely radiant, Lady Y/n. Like a goddess!" one of them exclaimed, their words echoed by the others in a chorus of admiration.
The room was filled with a hushed tension as a soft knock resonated through the air.
One of the servants, ever diligent, approached the door cautiously, cracking it open just enough to peer through. Upon recognizing the figure outside, the servant's eyes widened in surprise, and with a swift motion, the door swung open fully to reveal Captain Ragna standing there, a steadfast figure amidst the anticipation.
"Captain Ragna." the servant greeted, stepping aside to allow him entry.
Captain Ragna entered the room with a purpose, his presence commanding yet comforting. His gaze settled upon me, I gave him a small smile that carried a hint of unease.
"It's time, Lady Y/n." he announced, his voice steady and reassuring.
I nodded, my excitement tempered by a flutter of apprehension.
"I'm ready." I affirmed, a mixture of anticipation and anxiety dancing in my eyes.
With practiced ease, Captain Ragna stepped forward, offering his assistance as we made our way towards the waiting carriage. As we emerged into the crisp air outside, I couldn't help but voice the nerves that churned within me.
"I can't shake this feeling." I admitted softly, my fingers fidgeting with the fabric of my dress.
Captain Ragna offered a reassuring smile, his gaze steady and warm.
"You look beautiful." he assured me, his words carrying a warmth that chased away my doubts. "And Lord Thor will think so too."
His words brought a measure of calm to my racing heart, and I found myself grateful for his support.
"Thank you." I murmured, my gratitude evident in my voice.
With one final farewell, Captain Ragna ensured my safety inside the carriage before stepping back, his duty calling him to guard the venue.
As the carriage began its journey, I felt a sense of peace settle over me, knowing that I wasn't alone on this momentous occasion. Thoughts of Homura filled my mind, her unwavering support and love wrapping around me like a warm embrace. I could almost hear her gentle encouragement, reminding me that I was strong enough to face whatever lay ahead, and that gave me the courage to move forward.
I won't let you down. I won't let the people of Fjellheim down. Just as they protected me, I will stand by them, defending our home and our way of life.
As the venue came into view, my breath caught in my throat at the sight of Nordic soldiers standing sentinel around the perimeter. The anticipation swelled within me, my heart beating a rapid rhythm of excitement and nerves.
With a gentle jolt, the carriage doors opened, and a guard appeared, offering a helping hand as I stepped out into the bustling atmosphere.
Before me stood Göll, a valkyrie with a radiant smile, presenting me with a bouquet of f/c flowers.
"You look stunning, Lady Y/n!" Göll exclaimed, her admiration sincere as she bowed alongside her fellow valkyries.
I accepted the bouquet with a grateful smile, my heart swelling with warmth at their kind words.
Yet, my moment of reflection was interrupted by Brunhilde, the eldest of the valkyries, who approached me.
"It's time, Lady Y/n." Brunhilde declared, her voice carrying an air of solemnity as she gently placed the veil over my face.
With a nod of determination, I steeled myself for the journey ahead as I made my way towards the entrance of the venue. I took a deep breath, the soft rustle of my dress and the whispers of anticipation adding to the solemnity of the moment.
The grand stairs stretched before me, each step a testament to the journey I was about to embark upon. The valkyries, friends I'd made in the short time I'd been in Asgard, gracefully held the long train and veil, ensuring every detail was immaculate.
The ascent was both daunting and thrilling, each step drawing me nearer to the imposing grand doors.
The two guards guarding the entrance were poised, their expressions respectful as they awaited my silent command.
With a deep inhale, I gathered my resolve and subtly nodded to the guards. In unison, they moved to open the grand doors, the heavy wood parting with a majestic grace.
As the doors swung wide, music filled the air, a harmonious blend of strings and brass that echoed through the grand hall.
I straightened my posture, my bouquet positioned elegantly at my waist, and I began my journey down the aisle.
