The two of them spend the rest of the day talking, mostly Malia telling Kylie everything that's happened in the last couple of years. Day soon turned into night as the two were starting to wind down and get ready for bed. Kylie and Malia were brushing their teeth, Kylie kept glancing at Malia in the mirror. "Yes?" Malia smiles. "Um....nevermind." Kylie shakes her head. "No no, what did you wanna say?" Malia puts her toothbrush down. Kylie sighs before she rinses and spits. "I was gonna shower but i can't clean my back, the bullet grazed my shoulder blade and it hurts to move my arm too much." Malia nods. "I know, they told me." Kylie bites her lip. "Would you mind helping me?" Malia eyes widen a little as she raises her eyebrow. "You want me to shower with you?" She asks. Kylie nods. "Or, you know, i could just shower and then i can call you when i need your help?" Malia shrugs. "Whatever you want, Kylie." Should she? In the hospital, her mom helped her change out of her hospital gown. Now it's just her and Malia. She takes a deep breath before nodding. "I want you to help me. Something tells me I'm gonna have a hard time changing too." Malia nods and smiles softly. "Ok, whatever you want. Let me warm up the water and you can pick out our clothes?" Kylie nods and they both do their tasks.

Once the water was the right temperature, Kylie stares at Malia for a second, clearly hesitant. "I'll turn around." Malia quickly turns around and closes her eyes. "It's ok. I trust you, besides it's not like you haven't seen it before." Kylie shrugs. Malia slowly turns back around. "So, what's wrong then?" "I can't lift my arm above my shoulders, which means i won't be able to clean my back or anything like that." Kylie bites her lip. "Um, are you saying you want me to help?" Malia's heart rate sky rockets. "Could you, please?" Malia nods. "Of course." Kylie takes off her pants and underwear as Malia does the same. She takes off her shirt and bra before going to help Kylie. "Turn around." Malia whispered. For some reason, she felt like if she spoke at a regular volume, it would break whatever trance they had. Kylie turns around and Malia unhooks her bra. Kylie lets it fall to the ground. She turns around and looks Malia in the eyes. She can feel her nerves taking over. "Just breathe." Malia tells her. She takes off her bra and steps into the bath. Kylie couldn't help but check out her wife. She is human after all. She helps Kylie into the bathtub and they both sit. Kylie's back was against Malia's front. Which was probably a good thing because Kylie would probably just get distracted by her wife's breasts to actually bathe properly. Malia grabs a loofah and collects water to pour on her head. She does the same to Kylie to get their hair wet. She grabs the shampoo beside her and squeezes some out in her hand. She cleans her hair first before she cleans Kylie's. She works up a lather as she massages her scalp. Kylie sighs and relaxes for the first time since they've been home.

She feels her muscles release all the tension that was building inside her all day. Not knowing where she was, even though this is technically her house, finding out she was an adult now. Like an adult, adult. And to top it off, she's married. To a woman. But at least her wife was beautiful, she will admit that. "Relax Kylie. I'll take care of you. I promise." Malia whispered. Kylie listens and leans back against Malia. She feels her wife's front press against her back, the feeling of her skin on hers did some things to her. Things and feelings she wasn't sure she should admit or not yet. Malia rinses the soap out of Kylie's hair. They stay like that for a while. Just enjoying each other's presence and warmth. She turns her head to look at Malia. "Thank you." She whispered. Malia smiles at her before she kisses her forehead. "In sickness and in health." She whispered.

They eventually leave the tub, dry off and climb into bed together. "Are you sure you don't mind? I can take the couch, really." Malia insists. "Maliki! Stop, it's ok. We're sharing a bed, now get in." Kylie gets under the covers. Malia still hesitates but one look from her wife and she folded. She quickly climbs under the covers. They turn and face each other. It was then that Malia finally got a good look at Kylie's gunshot wound. It was tiny. Tinier than she thought it'd be. But it was there, no doubt about it. "Does it hurt?" She whispered. Kylie shakes her head. "I took some pain killers while you were grabbing the clothes." She whispered back. Even though the house was theirs, no one else lived there, just them. It felt more intimate whispering, like they were in their own little world. Malia slowly moves trembling hand over it. She presses against it slightly before tears threaten to fall once again. "It's ok. I'm ok. I may not remember everything but i promise, i will do everything i can to remember. Remember you, remember our love and the bond that we share."

Malia lets out a shakey sigh as she starts sobbing. "Shh, shh. It's ok." Kylie pulls her in close and holds her tight. Malia wraps her arms around her waist and sobs into her chest, soaking up Kylie's shirt. "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry this happened to you! It's all my fault! I should have protected you!" Kylie rubs her arm. "You didn't know. It's ok. It was our wedding, you wanted to enjoy the moment. No one blames you." Malia pulls away suddenly and sits up. "I blame me! I do!" "Well I don't." Kylie sits up as well. "I may not remember much but i know that if i wanted to marry you, it was because i love you! More than anything in this world! More than myself even. So don't blame yourself. It was no one's fault. But we can't keep looking back on the past. There's nothing we can do about it now. The only thing we can do is keep moving forward. I don't want you to feel guilty. About anything. You have nothing to feel guilty about." Kylie grabs her hands and places them on her chest, in-between her breasts, where her heart is. "This is the only thing i want you to feel. I want you to feel my heart, feel it beating, for you. I'm still alive, I'm here. And we're together. That's all that matters, we'll figure out the rest later." Malia is full on sobbing at this point, Kylie reaches out and wipes her tears but it was no use. They just kept coming. "I love you." She whimpers. Kylie pulls her close so her head is buried in her chest, feeling her heart. "I love you. I may not remember it but i feel it. I love you. Don't you ever forget that." They eventually fall asleep in each other's arms, with Kylie as the big spoon. As if she could sense it, every time Malia let out a whimper in her sleep, Kylie would pull her in closer and nuzzle into her hair before her wife's breathing would calm once again.
