Vijay was a man deeply invested in his own well-being. While he cared for others, his primary focus was on himself. He had a profound affection for Sandhya, equating it to the love he held for himself. However, this love evolved into an overprotective obsession, leading him to impose restrictions and control over her life. Sandhya, a simple soul, was drawn to Vijay's intense love and affection. Despite his controlling tendencies, she remained understanding and compliant. However, her discomfort grew as his behavior changed when around others. His fear of losing her caused him to become overly possessive, a trait that threatened to strain their relationship.
Vijay's anger boiled over, and he struck Sandhya across the face. Deepak intervened, but his efforts were futile. Humiliated and shocked, Sandhya fled the scene, tears streaming down her face. Deepak followed, attempting to offer comfort, but she remained silent. Recognizing her need for space, he retreated, keeping a watchful eye on her.
Vijay, realizing the gravity of his actions, attempted to reach Sandhya by phone. However, she refused to answer his calls. Despite repeated attempts and messages, Sandhya remained unreachable. Concerned about her well-being, Deepak approached her, noticing her lack of appetite
Deepak: Sandhya, please eat something. You haven't had anything since morning. You need energy to function.
Sandhya: Deepak, just leave me alone. I'm not in the mood to eat right now.
Deepak, seeing Sandhya's reluctance to eat, began feeding her. Surprised by his gesture, she hesitated initially. However, Deepak's gentle care and nurturing demeanor soon eased her discomfort, temporarily distracting her from her pain. That day, Vijay was forgotten as Deepak ensured Sandhya's well-being and escorted her home safely. As Vijay waited outside, hoping for a conversation, Sandhya ignored him and entered her home.
Deepak: Vijay, please stop treating her badly. She was really upset about what you did today, and you completely misunderstood the morning hug. Do you know that her father is in the hospital in critical condition?
Vijay: Yes, I do.
Deepak: Even so, you left her alone on the road at night, unaware of her destination. She was waiting for the bus all alone on a deserted road. I happened to be passing by and offered her a ride. What if someone else had been there, and something had happened to her?
Vijay: So, you two went somewhere together!
Deepak: Vijay, is that really important right now? She alone suffered in the hospital for her father's treatment, and you didn't even care. She gave me a hug to thank me for performing the surgery on her father, and you completely misunderstood her.
Vijay: I really don't care about any of this. I don't want you to be around her again!
Deepak felt a deep sense of sorrow for Sandhya, knowing she would be with a man who clearly didn't care for her. He felt compelled to support her through her current hardships. That night, thoughts of Sandhya kept him awake, worrying about her well-being. He blamed himself for the situation, a first-time experience of being consumed by thoughts of a woman.
The following day, Sandhya arrived at the hospital early to avoid encountering Vijay. She sat alone in the canteen, breakfast untouched, still consumed by her negative emotions. Deepak arrived at the same time and joined her at the table. With persistence and encouragement, Deepak managed to persuade Sandhya to eat, much to his relief.
Sandhya: Deepak, thank you for spending time with me. I know you're trying your best to cheer me up in the hospital. Thank you.
Deepak: I don't think friends need to thank each other. Aren't we friends? I thought we were really good friends.
Sandhya: Yes, we are friends. You saved my father's life. I'm so grateful for that.
Deepak: Sandy! I'll call you Sandy since we're friends now. I did it as part of my profession. I'll always do my best to save those who need my help, so you should not be thankful for that.
Sandhya and Deepak forged a strong friendship during their time together, engaging in meaningful conversations throughout the day. That evening, Sandhya encountered Vijay. Despite her attempts to avoid him, she couldn't escape the encounter. Vijay offered a sincere apology, pleading for her forgiveness.
Sandhya: Vijay, I'm not angry that you slapped me, but I'm sad that you didn't even ask what was happening or why I did that. You should have asked before hitting me.
Vijay: I'm really sorry, dear. I was completely out of control when I saw you with Deepak.
Sandhya: Let's talk about this later. I'm tired now. I want to go home.
Vijay: I'll drop you off.
Sandhya: I'd like to walk alone for a while. Please leave me alone.
As Sandhya walked home, lost in thought about recent events, Deepak appeared unexpectedly with an ice cream. Despite her desire for solitude, Deepak persisted, and they ultimately returned home together.
Question?
If Vijay witnesses Sandhya and Deepak returning home together, how will he react? Could Deepak's feelings for Sandhya complicate their friendship?
