PHOEBE'S POV.

"Phoebe, are you sure you can handle this?"

Harold asked with worry written all over his face.

"Don't worry about me."

This whole thing was starting to get on my nerves. Why was everybody behaving as if heavens just came down on earth? I have lived three good years Without the thought of Percy crossing my mind.I believed I have completely gotten over him and his sudden presence here wouldn't change anything. Harold has been the one to show me true love.I was stuck with him.

" its getting late." I broke the silence.

" I guess I'll have to leave now.
Phoebe, call me when the need arrives. Take care."

He placed a kiss on my forehead and walked out of the room. I coiled up in bed and squeezed my eyes tight, hoping that sleep came soon to take me away from the collection of memories................

Kait and I took the shortcut to the university. The same path I got hit by a ball last week.

" that's your guy,the one who kicked the ball at you the other time." Kait gestured before us.

"Which of them was it? I don't even recall his ugly face." I lied. That face could never leave my mind. I think I even dreamed of it.

"That one and he doesn't have an ugly face girl..... He seems to be coming this way.."

What does he want? I asked myself. He stopped before us wearing a smile like he just saw father Christmas drive by.

"Heii look who we have here, it's the girl with a full mouth." He called out to his friends. I frowned

"Today I'm not kicking balls." He said.

" So? You want to kick me then? " I asked in an angry tone,trying to sound annoyed.

"The name is Percy." He stretched out his hands.

"I don't remember asking for your name." I said,ignoring the pounding of my heart.

"But I want to know yours. Will you tell me? "

"Out of my way! " I pulled kait after me. He caught me by my arm and I shook him off.

"Oh come on,just want to be friends." He raised his hands in the air.

On second thought, I decided to give this guy a piece of my mind.

"Listen pretty boy, you think you can disrespect me then come back, sweet talk me and I'll do what? Smile sweetly at you? You've got the wrong girl. Better luck next time.. Let's go Kait."

We walked on.
I heard his friends whistling and giggling behind us. Good. He's learnt his lesson.Kait burst into laughter as soon as we were out of sight.

"That was so fierce girl.....did you see his face? Oh my God Phoebe!...."

"It isn't funny.." I said with a small smile playing on my face.

"But I think you're being too harsh on him. I mean the guy is really good looking...this could be your chance to finally..you know....."

"Oh shut up!. Why is everyone recently on my case? Can't I breath without someone reminding me that I need to get laid before I turn 19? Yea I get it...I'm a loner so what!"

Giggling, she said, " you're just strong headed...loosen up girl....and give Percy a chance..."

"Ugh.......who's that?" I pretended

"I know you know who..." She chuckled.

The next day as I walked down the road that leads to my house,I realized I'm being followed by two boys.it was 10 in the evening which gave me every right to panic . the road was deserted too. I quickened my steps but they caught up with me soon.

" where are you going pretty? "

they didn't look familiar so i tried to walk away.one of them grabbed my purse from behind.

"Give it back!" I yelled

"Chill baby.I'll give it back. Only if you'll let me give you a treat,right Ralf? "

" sure." The other agreed, a mischievous smile on his lips

"I don't need it.just give me my purse so that I can get going."

"Why? Is someone else waiting for you?"

" let me go."

I was beginning to get scared.then came a voice from behind.

"Why don't you pick on someone your size?" He looked pass them at me .You ok Phoebe?"

I choked and nodded my head.the boy with my purse handed it over to him and pushed the other and off they went, running in the opposite direction. I signed with relieve.

"You? "

"Yea me."
That stupid smile again.He handed me my purse and took the lead.

"What are you doing out here so late.?is quite unusual." He questioned

"I fell asleep at Kait's place and that stupid girl, she didn't wake me up when leaving for her dads.I tried to call my brother to pick me up but he isn't responding. I have a test early tomorrow morning and I can't miss it.....How did you know my name?"

I asked in surprise.

"I get to know everything I want."he smirked

"You went asking about me? "

"Yes".

"Why? "

" nothing. Wanted to know this girl who has so much guts to talk back at me."

" I wasnt talking back at you. I was only putting you in your place. so no girl has? "

"Not until you showed up".

Rolling my eyes, I looked him over and he looked at me.why? What's so special about him? I asked myself.

"So what did you find out.........are you a student at the university?"

"Yea,your father is my professor."

" who did you ask of me from? "

" you ask too many questions...Who doesnt know you on this campus?"

Then he stopped suddenly

"here we are."

I looked up and found we were already in front of my house.

" thanks for saving me." I said shyly.

" Aww....you could do better than that..." He faked hurt.
Folding my arms against my chest, I eyed him suspiciously.

"What does that mean?" I asked

"Your number? It won't be enough to make up for the trouble I went through to get you to safety but..mm,ill consider.." He grinned.

He just came to my rescue,it would be rude to snap at him or walk out on him. So I snatched the phone in his outstretched hand and began to type in my number. His grin widened.

"Don't be too happy yet pretty boy. This....doesn't mean anything. We aren't friends and you better not blow up my phone. After two rings if there's no answer just stop..are we clear?"

He threw his head back and laughed.

"Oh I like this girl....." He said to no one in particular and I lowered my eyes.

"I'm serious here...if you blow up my phone I'll block you.."

"Okaaaaay.....soo,I guess I'll be seeing you around Phoebe. " he said after a while

"I guess...."

"Percy." He told me and I nodded
"Percy". I repeated.He waved at me dramatically and I shut the door behind me.

I couldn't believe it!!
