The low hum of the air conditioner was the only sound in the room as Choi Seungcheol sat in his office, staring blankly at the reports in front of him. His fingers tapped rhythmically on the surface of his desk, but his mind wasn’t on the quarterly numbers or the upcoming board meeting. No, his mind was elsewhere—on someone he couldn’t quite shake from his thoughts.

Yoon Jeonghan.

The name alone made his chest tighten, a feeling he was not used to. Seungcheol was a man of control, but with Jeonghan, that control felt more fragile every day. He wasn’t sure how it happened, but somewhere between the casual stalking and constant surveillance, he’d become more attached than he intended.

A soft vibration broke through his thoughts. His eyes darted to his phone screen.

New post: Yoon Jeonghan.

Seungcheol's lips curled into a small, satisfied smile. He clicked on the notification, his eyes instantly drawn to the image that loaded on his screen. There was Jeonghan, flawless as ever. Dressed in his usual sophisticated style, his long hair framing his face like a halo, his smile was deceptively soft—angelic even. But Seungcheol knew better. There was a dark edge behind those eyes, one that Seungcheol had been watching from the shadows.

He leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on the photo.

Jeonghan looked so composed, so untouchable. The perfect facade of heaven’s lost angel.

But Seungcheol wasn’t fooled. He’d seen the cracks in that facade, the way Jeonghan had reacted at the president's daughter's party. How his gaze had lingered just a second too long when Seungcheol had arrived, how his jaw had tightened when their eyes met across the room. Jeonghan was just as aware of him as Seungcheol was of him—and that knowledge thrilled him.

But this game was only just beginning.

His eyes shifted to the small tracking dot on his screen. The one that marked Jeonghan’s location. It was something he’d put in place without Jeonghan knowing—a subtle tracker, carefully hidden among his things. Jeonghan didn’t suspect a thing. He was home now, probably in that chic apartment of his, sipping tea or scrolling through Instagram without a clue that Seungcheol was watching every move.

A sense of satisfaction bloomed in his chest. Jeonghan liked to play the innocent, the one who held all the cards. But Seungcheol knew better. He was the one pulling the strings. Jeonghan was just playing in his carefully designed web.

Seungcheol’s smirk widened as he stared at the tracking screen, watching the dot that was Jeonghan shift slightly. Maybe he was pacing around his apartment. Maybe he was thinking about him. Maybe—

He cut himself off with a sharp laugh. It didn’t matter what Jeonghan was doing now. Soon, their paths would cross again, and this time, it wouldn’t be a mere glance at a party. Seungcheol had been patient, calculating every move. Jeonghan may think their next meeting would be by chance, but Seungcheol knew better. He had already planned everything down to the last detail.

There would be no escape.

"Enjoy your peace while you can, Jeonghan," he muttered to himself, eyes narrowing on the screen. "This game is about to get a lot more interesting."

He glanced back at Jeonghan’s Instagram post, his thumb hovering over the like button. For a moment, he considered it—a simple tap to send Jeonghan a signal that he was still watching, still interested. But no, it wasn’t the time yet. He wanted to keep Jeonghan guessing for a little longer.

The next move had to be perfect.

With a satisfied sigh, Seungcheol closed the app, the grin on his face growing wider. Soon, Jeonghan would be his—whether he realized it yet or not.
