I bolted up. The cold winter air smashing into my lungs forcing out a cough. My alarm didn't go off and it was 6:19 the bus comes at 6:30. What am I rushing for? If I miss the buss I wont have to go to school. I very, very slowly got ready for the day. My Dad already left for work at 4:00. I made myself some breakfast and sat down to watch outer banks.
RING,RING,RING. My dad was calling.
"hello"
"why aren't you at school?"
"I missed the buss my alarm broke" He huffed in frustration.
"Your final exams start today" I could tell he was getting impatient.
"Oh Uhg i total forgot! can you drop me off?"
"I guess"
The call ended he was really mad. I waited and waited. RING,RING,RING, I called him its almost been two hours. RING,RING,RING! I called again and again all through out the day. No answers,No texts,No return calls, Nothing. when It finally hit 6:00 at night when he is supposed to come home from work there was a knock on the door. KONCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! I hurried to the door and wiped it open. Two cops where at the door a dark shadow washed over their faces when they seen me.
"hello?"
"Young lady are you home alone?"
"just me and my dad, but hes still not home yet"
The tall cop shook his head and looked to hid partner who in return cleared his throat.
"May we come in?"
"ya sure" I lead them into the living room and they as well as I took a seat.
"We got some bad news for you" my heart stopped.
" your father was killed in a car accident this morning,he was speeding. We assume he was on his way home"
