The air was thick with anticipation as Darius and Elara

fight to him. Darius had been quiet, methodically

checking his weapons and making final arrangements

with the small team he had gathered—a few trusted

allies who knew what they were up against. They

weren’t mercenaries, but people who owed Darius favors

from his past. Elara recognized one of them, a woman

named Kat, whose sharp eyes and no-nonsense

demeanor immediately put her at ease. She had an air

of competence and carried herself like someone who had

been in dangerous situations before."Everyone’s ready,"

Kat said, her voice steady as she glanced between

Darius and Elara. "We’ll meet you at the warehouse."

Elara’s heart pounded, but she forced herself to stay

calm. She couldn’t afford to let fear take over—not now.

"What do we know about the location?" Kat unfolded a

map on the coffee table, pointing to a building near the

outskirts of the city. "It’s one of Vincent’s old spots, a

warehouse he used for storage when he was still active.

It’s been quiet for a while, but our intel says there’s been

movement there in the past few days. It’s our best lead."

Darius nodded, his eyes sharp and focused. "Vincent

won’t be there directly, not yet. But we need to find out

what’s going on and who’s working for him. We take

them down quietly, get information, and get out."

Elara stood by Darius’s side, her hand brushing his

briefly in a silent show of support. She knew the risks

but she had made her decision to stand by Darius no

matter what. There was no turning back now. As they

geared up, the silence between them was charged with

unspoken tension. Darius handed Elara a small,

concealed weapon, one she had reluctantly learned to

use in the weeks leading up to this moment. "For

protection," he murmured, his gaze lingering on her face,
