Riley

I was sitting in my history class completely bored, what's the worst part is that we have a freaking seating chart, thankfully it was the last period. I look over the class and see my favorite person sitting; Ruby my best friend. The only reason I didn't skip this class was because of her.

I looked at her again, she is so focused I hate history but looking at her focus on the board, she is such a history nerd.

Finally the bell rang I was the first one to get up, I wasn't embarrassed I just wanted to go to Ruby. I reunited with her, and said "Let's go to my house"

She looked different I don't know what happened, I was speaking and it was like she was ignoring me I looked behind me and saw Ben behind ugh that jerk! "Are you talking with him?"
Her expression changed from happy to uncomfortable "Well he asked me to hangout with me so I said yes" she said I was really angry I knew Ben would probably use her to get close to me "I thought about what you said that I have to make more friends and I thought this might be a good opportunity?" Now I can't say no I don't know how to warn her about Ben's intentions. "It's not a problem just be careful. So see you on Monday?"

"Yeah see ya" she replied, as she started walking away. Why, WHY did it have him out of all the people?

                    3 years earlier

Riley closed her locker door exhausted. It is her last year of middle school. She can't wait for the school year to be over. She took a deep breath like preparing for the worst. She entered the classroom, and the teacher wasn't there, confused she took her seat and then all of a sudden the light went out. She panicked and abruptly stood up and then all of a sudden the light came back with Ben standing(more like kneeling) in front of the class holding a life size bouquet of Red Roses.

He was also balancing a board which had a beautiful poetry saying

  "Riley you're my heart.
You are an example of beautiful art.
Without you I'm nothing
You are the only thing I'm clutching
Hope you feel the same way for me
I'm eager for your response
Let's See"

At that moment she felt sick to her stomach not because of the confession but because of the time, and place.
But here was the thing, Riley saw Ben as a big brother. she tried to reject it politely but that got out of hand.

"Ben wow I-i didn't expect that-um the bouquet is beautiful but I'm sorry I don't feel the same way like you do for me." She said trying to hide her discomfort. then all of a sudden his friends appeared recording everything that happened and since then Riley and Ben became enemies. Ben did everything he could to make Riley regret her decision of turning him down and for this very reason she was scared, scared to come to school, scared to go out, scared to death.
