Day 2 : « Left ! Other left ! »

Words count : 620

Letting Lumine drive is probably the worst decision you've made in the last ten years.

You never thought you could downgrade the day you threatened the Raiden Shogun after she injured Lumine, but you have to believe that anything can happen.

You really love Lumine, a lot. She is brilliant, supportive, courageous and determined. You have witnessed her transformation from a simple traveler to the heroine of Teyvat. She is a wonderful woman that you would be more than honored to follow until the end of her journey, and even beyond if you are given the opportunity.

But never, ever will you let her take the wheel again. At least, not if you are in the vehicle.

"Which road is next?"

You try as best you can to smooth out the map crumpled by the wind hitting your face. But it's all the harder to read when Paimon is half-choking you, trying not to get swept away.

The landscape of Fontaine flashes past your field of vision. You've only been driving for about ten minutes and your stomach is already threatening to reverse its process.

You finally spot what you hope is your position on the paper map.

"It's on the left!"

You almost have to scream to be heard over the din of the air.

Paimon lets out a high-pitched scream when a bump makes the vehicle jump. Her hands tangle in your hair and you grimace in pain.

"Paimon shouldn't have eaten so many macaroons..."

That's one thing you both agree on.

"You better not throw up on me or you'll end up in the pot!"

Paimon lets out an indignant cry.

You refocus on the road, impatiently waiting for this car trip to end.

"I said on the left, Lumine, where are you going?!"

"It's left, right?"

"The other left, Lumine! The other left!"

A violent shock shakes the vehicle. Lumine jumps back, dragging you with her as the passenger seat crashes against a building.

It's far from the biggest blow you've suffered and you land on your feet easily. Nevertheless, you have to cling to Lumine like a castaway to keep from collapsing.

Lumine clumsily pats your shoulder while you recover your senses. Paimon has gone to vomit in some bushes nearby and you're tempted to imitate her. Your legs are shaking and your head is spinning like when Raiden attacked you outside of the Tenshukaku.

If you get attacked by a god again, you'll just have to give them a driving lesson with Lumine.

"I'm never getting in that hell of a machine with you again! It's over!"

Lumine gives a malicious smile.

"You're barely exaggerating it."

Paimon flies back to you. She's even paler than usual. She collapses against your shoulder.

"Paimon saw the light at the end of the tunnel..."

You pat her on the head.

"Me too, Paimon, me too..."

Lumine rolls her eyes without losing her smile. Obviously she had more fun than you, she who loves speed.

"Excuse me, is the vehicle yours?"

You turn around to find yourself face to face with a policeman who looks bewiled. He looks at the smoking car with eyes as round as marbles.

You point at Lumine with your thumb.

"My wife was driving."

You give her a look that clearly means "you better explain it to him because I'm not going to do it for you."

Lumine shrugs.

"That wouldn't have happened if my wife had given me the right directions."

You give her an outraged look and throws the ball back to her. Paimon quickly joins in the bickering and you argue like children who have broken a vase.

The policeman looks at you in turn with the face of someone who wants to go home. He glances again at the car—or rather what's left of it—and shakes his head.

"Never in my twenty-year career..."

You give Lumine a jaded look and she shrugs in response.

"Oops."
